Hi I'm Ken

I have lived in 13 different cities across the world. I am 3/4 Japanese. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the son of a foreign service officer, which meant moving around 10 times before I started university. I had the opportunity to live in countries such as Taiwan, China, Japan, and the U.S. I like to play basketball and go snowboarding. I had the chance to be a coach for a basketball camp. I like to play the guitar and listen to music. Living around the world helped me get a better sense of whats out there. I love eating good food! There's so much good food. Chinese is probably at the top. I am currently taking a break from attending university as I serve a 2-year mission for the church in Japan.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints not because of one dramatic life-changing experience where I came to know of God and his goodness, but rather through an accumulation of experiences where I have been able to see God's hand in my life. Following the teachings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me to truly feel and know that God and Jesus Christ live and watch over us. Their guidance--contained in the Bible and the Book of Mormon--as well as spoken through the current leaders of the church through direct revelation--has helped me find the greatest peace and happiness. I guess I came to realize that I really believed what I had been taught growing up when I found myself making decisions that were in harmony with the teachings of the church. Those decisions always paid off. And as I have made a greater effort to study and learn more about Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father--I have had numerous witnesses given to me through the Holy Ghost that they live--and that this church is true. The Holy Ghost really does testify of truth and the divinity of God the Father and His Son. Its through receiving those witnesses that I have built a greater relationship with them--and its all thanks to the teachings and the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored through this church. Once you come to know these things--there really isn't any other way to live.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith by the way I think and act. Every day. It is an integral part of who I am and by following the teachings of my Savior Jesus Christ and his perfect example I am guided in my efforts to live an exemplary life. Because of my faith, I have an understanding of what is truly important in this life. This helps me to use my time and energy towards things that really matter. One of such is helping and serving others. Right now, I am blessed with the opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary for the church in Japan. My desire and motive for my efforts in finding and teaching those who are interested in learning more about Jesus Christ and his restored Gospel are centered in the fact that I know that anybody and everybody will find greater and lasting peace and happiness through the message that God has to offer to everybody.
