Hi I'm Maren

I am a daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy traveling, sailing with my parents, writing stories, reading good books, and learning new things. While I'm not a virtuoso on any musical instrument, I really enjoy playing the piano, I am learning to play the guitar and the ukulele. I love my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in a Mormon household, I still chose to become a member of the LDS church. I continue to be an active member of the LDS church because I believe that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. My ancestors have been wonderful examples to me. My great-great-great grandparents converted to the church and were baptized in England, Denmark, and Norway in the 1850s. They were pioneers that immigrated to the United States to join with other members of the LDS church in Utah and Colorado. They endured incredible hardships. However, they remained true, faithful, and committed to their testimonies in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my ancestors and I appreciate their sacrifices. I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He suffered and atoned for our sins. I know that the only way for us to be truly happy in life is to live as Jesus Christ would have us live, to follow His example, and to strive to love others as He loves them.

How I live my faith

In addition to attending church services, providing service in my ward, and participating in church activities on a regular basis, I think the most important guide I have tried to follow as I live my faith is the following Article of Faith: "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." I live my faith by continually striving to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ; by striving to be honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and doing good to all men; and by seeking for those things in life that are virtuous, lovely, of good report, and praiseworthy.
