Hi I'm Jay

I'm an eye doctor. I love basketball. I'm from Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors...mostly during the warmer time of the year. Hiking, golf, basketball, 4 wheeling and photography are some the things that I enjoy here in the Pocatello area and the western United States. I am married to my dear, sweet wife. I also have 3 awesome boys and one terrific daughter-in-law. We love doing things together as a family. I am an optometrist here in our community.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and hears and answers my prayers. I know that I have a Savior who suffered for me so that I can repent and continually try to live a better way. I am not perfect! Yet I know that I can try to be a little better and continually move forward in my life. Always striving to get a little closer to Him. I have had my challenges in life and I know that with the Lord's help, my struggles have become lighter and easier to bear. He has placed prophets on the earth to guide us at this time. They can give us direction and help us prepare for the time when the Savior comes again. I love being around people who share the same values. When people can come together in a cause that is good and right, those are the people with whom I want to associate. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps us to unite in faith and gives us desires to do what is right with a belief that we can one day live with Him again. I haven't had any huge miracle happen in my life but I have witnessed many little ones that help me to realize that He is there watching over me. I want to be with my family forever and the only way to do this is by doing what's right and making promises with God in His temples. That is the only way that I can achieve the true joy and happiness that I want! I truly love my wife and when I married her I wanted to be with her and my family forever. That desire hasn't changed!

How I live my faith

Helping other people is something I like to do. Coaching basketball, volunteering to help with a school function, or pitching in with a neighbor's move are some of the things that I do to help serve others around me. I have had the chance to take youth groups to camps for scouting and other activities. I enjoy teaching and being around youth.
