Hi I'm Linda Duty

I was born and raised in Florida. I'm a children's writer and publisher. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love creating most anything from writing to flora arrangements to gardens or event plans, love the creative process and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the results, although I find the journey is almost always more fulfilling. Being outdoors especially playing in the dirt (garden) and watching the birds and baby squirrels is part of that joy. I have eight children and twenty grandchildren along with a few "adopted" ones acquired over the years and it is from the antics and adventures of those descendants that I pull my "bug" stories from.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a senior in high school, my best friend was searching for the true church and when she found it, she shared that with me. When I first heard the basic principals of the gospel of this church, it rang with a familiarity in my heart and in my mind and I knew that it was something I had known before...but not on this earth. That faith to learn more culminated in my prayerful study and joining the church the day after I graduated high school. Through all the trials of my life, the thing that keeps me going is my knowing that I have a Heavenly Father and Mother and that Jesus Christ is my brother and there is a plan for all of us here on earth. I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I am far from perfect, but the gospel this church teaches is an active, living lifestyle that helps us push toward goodness and service and loving all, forgiving all and striving to return to our Father in Heaven. I strive for that. I try to serve my community on a regular basis in many different ways, ranging from doing fund-raisers or HAM radio work or just helping out a neighbor in need. I serve as the emergency preparedness coordinator in my local ward and as a compassionate service coordinator. I love serving the Lord and try to do my best as I know it not only pleases Him but serves my fellow men and women.
