Hi I'm Brenda Tolman

I grew up in Utah. I'm a hairstylist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a loving mother and father in my home. They were wonderful parents who taught me to be a good person not only with their words but through their example as well. I was blessed to have had a very secure and loving childhood. At a young age I fell in love with my sweetheart Nathan, married and soon had four children Adam, Aubree, Aysia and Ashley. I love being a mother and wife! I am also a hairstylist . . . which I also love doing! I am blessed enough to be able to do this in a small salon built just off my home. Over the last few years our children have married and moved on. They have given us (so far) 5 beautiful grandchildren, who are the love of our lives. My husband and I have been blessed to spend time with them regularly. My husband and I love to exercise with our sheltie, travel to foreign countries and go boating with our family. Where my husband loves to build both small and large things in his spare time . . . I love to build scrapbooks. Also, give me a good book and I can get lost in it for hours!

Why I am a Mormon

I've had clients ask me why I'm a Mormon . . . I tell them, "To me it's like breathing. Something that is completely second nature to me, yet if I were to try to do without I would cease to exist. I don't know any other way to describe something that is so much of who I am. Being a Mormon isn't just something we do on Sunday mornings when we go to church, or when we know someone is watching us. Being a Mormon or a Latter-Day Saint is a Covenant or a promise to God and our Savior Jesus Christ to

How I live my faith

I live my faith in different ways. Over the years I have had many opportunities to work with our young women of our church and community. They have always impressed me with their faith and testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have worked with youth councils in our area and watched not only the young women, but also the young men of today work together as leaders in the community, organizing and participating in large functions. They so impress me with their leadership skills! In more recent years my husband and I had the blessing of serving with two other couples in a single young adult group. What a great experience that was! Their ages ranged from 18 - 30 years and they were in all different stages of life. We loved them! We loved both teaching and learning the gospel with them. They were an amazing group of people. Now my love is pointed in a new direction . . . a younger group of children. I'm working with young girls, ages 8 - 12, and they are a hand full! Teaching them is a whole new ball game! The salon is another place where I live my faith daily. I live my faith by serving God in any way I can. Serving in the church, teaching the gospel while cutting someones hair, or just by being an example of the gospel. Just so long as I can feel the Holy Spirit prompt me when I am needed. I want to be ready when the Lord needs me.
