Hi I'm Mark

I am a missionary! I love making others happy, spending time outdoors, and enjoying what God has given me.

About Me

I enjoy good hard work. I love looking for service opportunities and love to help people. My family means everything to me and there is no greater blessing to be able to live forever with them. I have 2 older sisters and one older brother who I love being with. I wanted to know if the Church was true. So I prayed for a long time before I recieved my answer, but I know now that this is the true church of Jesus Christ because of how it makes me feel. Becasue of this knowledge and joy the gospel has brought into my life I am currently serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission. Every day I am reminded how I got here, why I want to share the gospel with others, and what a wonderful opportunity I have to be a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I have learned that by living the correct and true principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ we are able to be happier people. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was written for us. There are many times that the scriptures have given me peace, guidance, and direction in my life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He saw our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. The spirit has testified of this truth to me and it is my honor and privilege to share that knowledge with other people every day. Most important I know that Jesus Christ is my loving Savior and Reedemer. He has been there for me through all of the good and bad times in my life. He has never left my side. Even when I make mistakes, or feel like I disapoint Him and think "How could He still love me". I know that is constantly aware us you and me individually, and is always there to give us comfort, support, and love. I try to live my life in a way that would be pleasing unto Him every day. I know that if we put our trust in Him by allowing Him to be a part of our lives; we can find peace and happiness in this life and the life to come. Christ is at the door waiting, only you can let Him into your life.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith my serving as a missionary, but the experience of serving a mission has changed my life in many ways and I really do feel that I am a new person. I know that even though I try to be perfect I will not be able to reach that in this life, but through his grace He will help me accomplish his purposes for me (Hebrews 11:40, 1 Peter 5:10). I want my Savior to know my love for him by keeping His commandments (John 14:15), he has promised that as I do, I will be able to feel the Love that he has for me, and I will be able to know that He is my Savior and Redeemer (John 15:21). As I have that comfort in doing what He has asked me to, I know that I am happier than I was when I wasn't doing these things like I should've been. But I know that Family is the best place to apply the principles of the gospel and that without them I would not have the relationships of love and trust that I now enjoy. Anyone can enjoy these blessings when they apply the things that the Savior has taught. I have learned that the only way that we can truly be happy is if we live the teachings of Jesus Christ. Each day I do my best to improve and to live my life the way that He would want me to. Even though I still make lots of mistakes; I rely on His grace and that makes all of the difference. Because of this I am happy!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We worship God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The scriptures say that we are to have "no other gods before me". I view Joseph Smith as a prophet of God just like Noah, Moses, and other biblical prophets. God uses and has always used prophets to declare His word, and to guide us through our challenges personally and as a sociey. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by prophets that lived in the ancient Americas. These prophets were commanded to testify of the coming of Jesus Christ, what he would do for us and how we can come to know who he is. We can know if these writings in the Book of Mormon were inspired by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and given to these prophets, by reading, pondering, and praying to find out if the Book of Mormon is true. What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is an enabling power, given to man to accomplish or to do something that we can't do on our own. It is only through the merits, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ we can be saved. The grace of Jesus Christ comes into our lives as we have faith, and keep the commandments that he has given us. Show more Show less
