Hi I'm Ashley

I love to draw and paint, read and write. I am married and have three beautiful children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, but since I've lived in Idaho for most of my life, I consider myself native. I was raised in the church and I was baptized when I was 8. When I was 16, I lived in Belgium with my family for a year and a half. It was an incredible - as well as humbling - experience. I was sealed to the love of my life, Brandon, for time and all eternity in the Boise, Idaho Temple in September of 2010. We have two beautiful daughters - Collette (born Feb. 2012) and Lilianna (born Sept. 2016) - and a handsome son - Emmett (born Aug. 2014). I enjoy drawing, painting, reading, and writing - I am writing a young adult novel right now that I hope to publish someday. I am attending school through Brigham Young University-Idaho's online program and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to continue my education while still being able to stay home with my children. I hope to finish college and someday pursue a career as a marriage and family counselor. I enjoy being outdoors and love spending time with my wonderful family.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon. For one, the knowledge that I get from being a member of the church has brought so much happiness into my life. I don't even want to think about where I would be if I didn't have this gospel. I have found that when I am doing the things that I know my Father in Heaven would want me to do, I am a better person and am so much happier. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me personally. He sees the big picture and knows what is best for me. It is such a comfort to know that He is in charge. Everything happens for a reason and He is always watching over us. He wants to help us - we need only ask and keep His commandments. He wants to bless us and He wants us to return to live with Him again. He hears my prayers and He ALWAYS answers them, though not always in the way I want. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have that I am a daughter of God. That knowledge has helped me more through my life than anything else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings regularly. I partake of the sacrament every Sunday to renew the covenants I have made with my Heavenly Father. I keep pictures of the temples and of Christ around our home as a constant reminder of what is important. We have family prayer and scripture study - as well as personal prayer and scripture study - every night. On Mondays, we have Family Home Evening - where we always have some kind of lesson or spiritual thought followed by quality family time. I try to live my faith by being a good example to those around me. I love when people say that they can "just tell" that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Even if I am not giving them the missionary discussions, I can influence those around me just by being a good example. I am a visiting teacher and I enjoy getting to know the sisters I visit. It is so fun each month to be able to meet with the sisters in a casual setting and learn more about them, and to share an uplifting message with them as well. I have also had the opportunity for the last few months to serve in the Relief Society. I have truly come to love the women that I get to serve and have come to understand that "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17).
