Hi I'm Veigh

I love being a dad. I love fishing, camping, popcorn and movies, and date night with my wife. And I am very proud to be a Mormon!

About Me

I love living in the beautiful state of Utah. I'm married to the woman of my dreams, and we have 4 awesome children. My own little family, is truly the center of my happiness! I served an LDS mission in the North and South Dakota area. I graduated from college with a criminal justice degree, however I have excelled in the packaging industry for over 20 years. I have an entrepreneurial drive, and would love to have my own business someday. During my free time, when I am not at work, or designing packaging as a freelancer, I enjoy just hanging out with my family either baking cookies, singing and dancing to the kids' music, or watching movies. During the warmer months, we love to spend time outdoors and up in the mountains camping, and catching trout for dinner! With my wife's help, I have made our home a safe haven where my kids friends, or anyone else who comes to visit, can be surrounded and overwhelmed by the Holy Ghost, and feel the love of our Savior Jesus Christ! And as they come and go, they can rely on us as a help and inspiration in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Heavenly Father giving us the privilege and responsibility to choose for ourselves how we live our life, shows me how much he loves us! This privilege he has given us to choose for ourselves in every situation, and in everything we do or say, to know what is right and what is wrong, is priceless! He knows we will make mistakes. This is why Heavenly Father has given us help to make good choices. He not only has given us the Holy Ghost to dwell within us and guide us in choosing what's right, but he sent us his son Jesus Christ to overcome physical death and spiritual death. I know that Jesus Christ's sacrifice of his own life, made it possible for all of us on earth, to be resurrected after we die. That is a free gift Jesus gave us. I know that Jesus Christ also gave us the help we need when we mess up and make mistakes. Jesus Christ paid in blood, the price for all the wrongs and bad choices we make, so that we don't have to. All he asks us to do is repent, and ask for his forgiveness when we do make a mistake. Now that is an awesome gift! It gives me peace to know the complete truth of our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. I know that families can be eternal, and by being sealed together as a family in the temple, I can be with mine forever. Not just until "death do you part", but FOREVER! It is amazing to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only church on earth that teaches the complete truth and teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the truest book on earth. I am grateful for the privilege of being able to receive personal revelation from our Heavenly Father, through the promptings of the Holy Ghost, in order to make right choices. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is definitely lead by a prophet of God today, and is truly Jesus Christ's church. I know this to be true, because I have asked God myself!

How I live my faith

Every day I try to be the best example I can, to my colleagues at work, neighbors, and anyone else I meet throughout the day. I constantly rely on the Holy Ghost to guide me and always listen for his promptings. I am very humbled during these trying times, to know for myself that this church is true! So much, that I receive great happiness in sharing with others the beliefs I know are true. My wife is astonished that I can just start talking to a complete stranger about what I believe., whether on the street, riding on the commuter train on the way home from work, or anywhere. I told her it is because Heavenly Father gave us our agency, to choose for ourselves if it is true or if it is not true! And I feel everyone should find out for themselves, directly asking God himself. That is why I love the scripture in Moroni, chapter 10, verses 3-5 (in the Book of Mormon) which tells us to ".....ponder it in your heart. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true: and if ye ask with a sincere heart, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I love this concept and blessing that God has given us, because it helps remind me everyday that we all are learning for ourselves, and it helps me to not judge people for their own choices and own actions!

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

One thing I love about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that there are no paid clergy in every congregation. The leader (or leaders) of each congregation each have their own full-time job, working for their employer, in order to support their family. All of their time which they spend doing church assignments/activities is all voluntarily donated time. In addition they are not the only speakers during the Sunday service. They ask others of the congregation to give the talks, because our Heavenly Father's plan is for us to teach each other, and learn together! The missionaries are not paid either. They pay for all expenses themselves, by saving up before they go, and sometimes with help from family and friends! They do this because they love our Savior Jesus Christ, and want to share with you those things that make them happy and know to be true. So you can pray and find out for yourself, if what they are saying is true! Show more Show less
