Hi I'm Austin

I'm from Hawai'i. I love to surf, play soccer, and play guitar. I'm serving a spanish speaking mission for two years.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well my name is Austin and I love life.I recently finished serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My hobbies are playing soccer, playing music, and helping others to have a smile on their face. I love being happy and I don't think that there should be any other way to live life than with a smile on your face. I am the oldest of six children and my parents are divorced. Life was harder then, but with the support of friends, family, and church, I was able to become who I am today and overcome what seemed to be the mountain sized trials of life.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was being raised my grandma would always take us to church and she helped my brothers and I to know that we should go to church. My mom is member of the church as well but my dad isn't so I had seen both sides of life. My dad always said that I should be able to choose to go wherever I wanted to go to follow Christ and live my life, and as I got older I strayed away from the path that my grandparents and mother had shown me. The option of not haveing to go to church every Sunday seemed so appealing to me and I used to love it, but with time my life lost it's meaning. I would sometimes go to church but not for the reasons that one should go to church. I was always searching for something that could fill a hole that was in my heart that was growing bigger by the minute. I think it was when my parents got divorced that I really started to look at my life and see a bigger picture. The changes in my life didn't happen immediately after that instance but it happened over time. As I went to BYU- Hawaii and saw the examples of the students there that really got me to thinking on how I can be a better person. When I got back home from my first year there I started to work and had a goal in mind to serve a full time mission for the church. The biggest change in my life took place when I felt the love of two families who let me live with them before my mission and they helped me every step of the way. The love that those families had shown me is something beyond description and something that only Heavely Father can put in someones life. I know that this is true and I know that every soul is important in the eyes of God. For that reason He put those two families along with those other wonderful examples in my life so that He could help me to get back on the path and make it back to His kingdom. This church is so true and the gospel, by which all of the members of this church live their lives, is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to set an example and always looking for opportunities to help others that are around me. I have the honor of doing that to an even greater extent as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ in Orlando. I love doing this work and I love serving others.
