Hi I'm Jenny

I love my family and friends. I love skiing and mountain biking. I want to leave the world better than I found it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I go to school sometimes, work sometimes, and play outside a lot. I am currently in the MPA (Master's in Public Administration) program at the University of Utah. I am passionate about helping women around the world to have better lives and I hope that receiving my MPA will enable me to aid in combating sex trafficking and other women's health issues. In addition, I work for a corporate wellness company as a health coach. I love it because I basically get paid to help people improve their lives. I love the good ol' outdoors. I love to ski, mountain bike, hike, and play all kinds of sports. And last, but certainly not least, I love my family and friends. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. My family raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I was baptized when I was eight years old. I always knew that the church was good, but when I was about 14 years old, I wanted to find out for myself if all of this stuff I had grown up believing was really true. So I prayed about it. I received a witness from the Holy Ghost that I will never forget. I started reading the Book of Mormon on my own every morning and I was happier than I had ever been. I loved everyone so much and wanted to help them to feel how I felt. Since then, the times when I have done my best to live the gospel have been the happiest times of my life. I have received my testimony line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little and it will continue to grow. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He has a plan for me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that through Him, I can overcome all things. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in it's fullness. Joseph Smith was a prophet and we have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. The Book of Mormon and the Bible contain the fullness of the gospel. I know these things by the power of the Holy Ghost. This gospel means everything to me and I am going to do all I can throughout my life to help others to receive the joy that the gospel brings.

How I live my faith

I mean, I don't live my faith perfectly, but I sure do try and I think that's what counts. I try to start each day with a prayer and continue to pray throughout the day that I can have faith and not fear and have charity for those around me. I try to study the words of Jesus Christ every day by reading the scriptures and the counsel of current prophets and apostles. I try to be a friend to everyone I meet and it's easier for me to do so when I view everyone as my brother or sister. I do my best to love and serve my family and friends and focus on their needs more than my own. It works pretty well most of the time. I go to the temple just about every week so that I can help those who have gone before me, receive guidance, feel peace, and maintain an eternal perspective. I go to church every Sunday where I have the opportunity to renew my covenants, study the scriptures, and be strengthened by the good people around me. Right now, I have the opportunity to visit people in my neighborhood who are new to the area. I see how they're doing and find out if there is anything I or other members of our congregation can do to make their transition easier. And when I fail and make mistakes, I repent. I ask Jesus Christ to help me and He always does.
