Hi I'm Nicole

I'm American born Chinese. I'm an engineering student. I'm a missionary in Hawaii. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm ABC from Utah. I've grown up with the American, Chinese, and Vietnamese cultures, and I love having a multicultural background! I have a really long list of languages that I'd like to learn someday, but right now I'm working on Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. I have two brothers; one of them is currently serving a mission in Hong Kong. I love to express myself through writing and music! I enjoy reading, swimming, and hiking. I'm also obsessed with panda bears :). I'm a college student at Brigham Young University, studying chemical engineering and mathematics. I'm currently a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am serving in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission, Cantonese speaking, and I love it!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that it is TRUE!! My parents are both converts to the church, and I was raised with the gospel. However, I don't believe in it only because of my upbringing. I've searched, asked, and had my own personal experiences where I've learned that the gospel is true for myself. One of the most wonderful aspects about the gospel of Jesus Christ is that families can be together FOREVER. My family is sooo important to me, and it makes me so incredibly happy that I know I can be with them and live with them forever, even after death. I know that Heavenly Father really does love and care for all of us, and wants us to be happy. During my most difficult times, I've felt the Savior pulling me forward. I know that the power of the Atonement is real, and that it truly is because of Christ that I am able to be made clean. I'm eternally grateful for Jesus Christ and all that he was willing to do for me. I'm a Mormon because I've tried living the gospel, and seen the blessings that come from it. It doesn't mean that my life is perfect or that everything is easy, but that there is hope and comfort. Because there's someone out there watching over me. I didn't learn this all at once, but rather through smaller experiences I've been able to strengthen different parts of my testimony. As a missionary, I've been able to see aspects of people's lives that I normally wouldn't. There are a lot of difficulties, pain, and heartbreak in the world, but the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the gospel can heal ANYTHING. I've seen it at work in the lives of other people, and I've seen it at work in my own life.

How I live my faith

I've been involved in several different meeting and activity committees in my student wards. I attend church on Sundays so that I can learn and strengthen my testimony. I heard a quote along the lines of, "If you don't love everyone, it is because you don't know them." Everyone is a child of God, and everyone goes through trials. It's tough sometimes, but I try to look past first impressions and appearances and love people no matter what they have done or gone through. I am serving as a full time missionary in Hawaii so that I can share my faith and testimony of the blessings of the gospel!
