Hi I'm Preston Blackmon

I am from small town Marion, South Carolina. I am a kayaker and a submission grappling enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

as of now im a full time missionary serving in San Diego, CA spanish before the mish worked full time in my familys grocery business i dont have any brothers or sisters but i do have two amazing little cousins that live by my house ive spent the majority of my life in on under and near the water i also train in submission grappling with a focus in brazilian jiu jitsu i love pushing the limits of my body i love to explore the SC rivers with my kayak when im not in the water or on the mat, i love creating images with my camera

Why I am a Mormon

i love this gospel!! i grew up in the church thanks to my wonderful parents. i grew up in a very small branch and went to school where i was the only mormon. but all the challenges that i faced because of my faith is what has strengthened my testimony and relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. i know without a doubt this gospel is true, but my testimony that i have i didnt just get it over night. i spent many hours reading The Book of Mormon and the Joseph Smith story and many nights on bended knee to recieve this testimony. after i put forth my effort and prayed with real intent the answer was revealed to me through the Holy Ghost that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith really did see the Father and the Son, and i know also that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer. and that through Him and His gospel i can one day return to live with my family again.

How I live my faith

as of now im living my faith by sharing it with others as a missionary of Jesus Christ. i spend two years voluntarily to invite others to come unto Christ through the restored gospel. this is the most important and rewarding work i think we can do, helping others to increase their faith and relationship with their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. before my mission i was called to be a branch financial clerk for a year and a half. in that responsibility i personally was able to see how our church receives and distributes tithing paid by the members. a super fun but sometimes stressful calling. to me living our faith boils down to what the apostle Paul said, "be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1timothy 4:12) just trying to live "the word". though im not always the best example, i fall at times, but its important to always remember that none of us are perfect, but through our faith in the Savior we can be one day.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Preston Blackmon
well we live like normal people, we go to school work and we spend time with the family, the lord challenges us as well to use and develop our talents. as mormons we do things that lift us up emotionally and spiritually. we try our best in life to seek happiness and joy within the bounds the Lord has set.
