Hi I'm Grant

I'm a musicain. I'm one of 7 kids in my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm number 6 of 7 kids in my family. We all LOVE to make music together. I have 4 beautiful sisters and 2 great older brothers. I look up to my Mom and Dad so much! To me, family and the gospel are what is MOST important in life. I just returned to my family in Bountiful, Utah after serving a mission in Arcadia, California. I have experienced more joy, trials, peace, and love than at any other time in my life while serving. I am beginning to understand what it means to represent the sacred name of Jesus Christ. While serving in the East LA area, I met A LOT of people; these people represented a wide variety of different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds. I was touched as I felt The Lord's love for these many people. I felt strongly that all of them ARE God's children, and that He cares for them as much as He cares for any one of us. No one is exempt from His love. Everyone I met has problems in their lives, some of these problems are self inflicted; many of them are consequence of life happening, as it does for all of us :) Interesting that when we go through these hard times, we're so easily tempted to blame God, instead of rely on Him to get through it. No matter what trials I see, I know that through the Atonement and grace of our Savior, all things can be made right. I believe in our Heavenly Father who is exactly as His name implies: a family God. His great purposes for us revolve around His love for us, His children, and His desire for us to return to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church. I have found this church to be the greatest blessing in my life! Although I was raised in this church, it has been through personal study, prayer, and living God's commandments that I've recieved a witness that this IS Christ's restored gospel. I testify that anyone truly seeking God's guidance in life will find it most clearly by living the gospel as revealed through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try every day to show my love for The Lord. In the bible we learn that if we love God, we should keep his commandments. It is my every day effort to keep His commandments. I love the comfort, peace, and guidance this brings into my life. Keeping the commandments sometimes is the harder choice, but I promise that it brings the more desirable consequences! The Lord's laws are for our protection and growth. He yearns for us to BECOME something better every day, and the commandments are the fuel for that. There are things that invite that guidance of the Holy Ghost like reading the scriptures, praying, and going to chruch (all of which are commandments). I've realized that doing these things consistently is the key to lasting happiness. Righteosness grants us freedom to choose. Our wrong choices limit our freedom. A really important part of living my faith is relying on Christ to help me with my everyday human follies. As mortals, we constantly fall, and need the application of Christ's Atonement to be cleansed from our soul-staining sins. Having made sacred promises with God through Baptism, I strive to renew those covenants every Sunday by taking the Sacrament, or the bread and water - a symbol of our baptismal promises to keep the commandments. Baptism cleanses our souls from sin, but we still make mistakes after baptism, so the sacrament is a re-cleansing, re-committing, and reminding.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Grant
The same way you come to know anyone: speak with Him (through prayer); learn of Him (through the scriptures); show your love for Him (by keeping His commandments). The more sincere I am as I try and do these things, the closer I feel to Him. Test it out! :) Show more Show less
