Hi I'm Gerald Evans

I'm a Mormon. I'm a 70 year old father and grandfather. I have retired and enjoy life. I have much to be thankful for.

About Me

I worked for a major city fire department communications center for 32 years. I graduated from a university with a bechelors degree in history. I love history. I am the father of four boys and four girls and twenty four grandchildren. They are the joy of my heart. I spent seven years in the military as an army medic. I spent many years working with young men in the Boy Scouts, helping them develop into fine young men. I have been an ecclesiastical leader in my church. I am not a natural born people person. I have to work at it. I am more quiet and reserved. I am not an adventurer but have had many adventures in life. I like travel and visiting new places, more like the national parks than big cities. I am not as spry as I used to be. I have many of the ailments of age but do not let them keep me from enjoying life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because life's questions are all answered in this faith. I know where I came from and where I am going. Eternal promises keep me following the Savior and his teachings. The Savior made it possible for all of us and I mean all of us to receive eternal rewards and to live in His presence again. He is no respector of persons or status or wealth. He loves all of us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my fellow man. I am currently serving a mission for the Mormon Church in Portland, Maine for eighteen months after which I will return to my home in Utah. Serving others has been my life long goal whether with the fire department, military, or church. I have not been as active in the community as I should have been but have stepped up when asked. I try to let my faith show in my actions, slow to anger, considerate of others, and being a peacemaker. In other words trying to follow the Saviors example.
