Hi I'm Jacob

I am a band geek and a total nerd. I have a huge family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I moved to PA when I was eleven. Leaving family and friends was really hard but as I relied on the Lord for help and strength he helped me. I love music. I was part of my high school choir, concert band, jazz band, and marching band. I played to drums. I would like to think of my self as a percussionist but that is debatable. I love lights. I came to love them in a high school drama class. As it turns out I'm not an actor but found I could still be part of it serving on the stage crew. Living in the East our family had the opportunity to be part of the Hill Cumorah Pageant. We have been part of the pageant for about six years. (2006-11) I was on the work crew for the Hill Cumorah Pageant in 2010 and 2011. While there I learned how to set up and run stage lights and follow spots, to build a seven level stage in a week, set off fireballs, fire pillars, water cannons, and fog machines safely. Through these years of being part of the pegeant I learned a lot about service and about my Savor. It has strengthened my testimony of Him and of the Book of Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, my father works for the church in the Church Education System, I can't remember not going to church, not read and praying every day as a family, not having family home evening every Monday night (and that didn't end until someone got hurt and Dad sang a silly song). You don't get more Mormon than my family but I still had to learn for myself that it was true. I came to know the church is true when I was a teenager. I went through a phase when I didn't really want to do it any more. I would go through the motions of what my family was doing but I didn't feel it. I hid my doubts from my family and leaders and desided to work it out between me and the Lord. I prayed to Him and asked Him if the Book of Mormon was true, if Joseph Smith really was a prophet and if this was his church. As I prayed I felt a burning in my heart that felt so familiar. I heard these words almost as if someone was standing right in front of me and telling me softly, "You know it is. You have always known." I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is also a prophet of God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church restored to the Earth. I know it. I know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ and that He love each and every one of us. In the name of Jesus Chrich, my Lord and my God. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by getting out and sharing my testimony with people I meet. When I was baptised I covented with God that I would stand as a witness of Christ at all times. To me this means that I should do the things that Christ would do if he were in my shoes.
