Hi I'm Dan

I'm from Utah. I'm preparing to serve a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really like to go outside. Running, hiking, frisbee, and soccer are some of the things I like doing, though I'm not super good at soccer. I'm enrolled in college as a Choral Education major, which is something I hope to continue doing when I return from my mission. I play guitar, violin, ukulele, and I sing. Music is one of my favorite things. I really like to travel, and I'm really lucky to have been able to go to many different cities and countries including Korea, France, and Switzerland.

Why I am a Mormon

Sometimes in my life I've felt alone. Even if members of my family were around, or I was in a busy area, I still felt alone, like no one could relate to me, or noticed me. However, within the last year or so I came to the best realization ever. God is there. He loves me. He knows who I am, what I'm dealing with in my life. No matter how I'm feeling, I can remember that God loves me. I have a strong belief in the truth of the scriptures, and of the Atonement. I find it amazing and comforting to know that even when I make dumb mistakes, small or large, if I put in some work, I can repent, and be forgiven for all my sins. I was born a member, but I was slowly falling away. I honestly don't know exactly what turned me back, but I can tell you it was the beset decision I ever made. There's a distinct difference in how my life is going now. I find it easier to love and try to help the people around me. This church is true.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah as part of my full-time (2 years) mission in Cape Verde. I'll be learning to speak Portuguese. Some people might think that it's crazy to be leaving your home and your family for so long, to go somewhere you've never been, speaking a different language than you know. And yes, once in awhile, it seems crazy, but I know that this is what God wants me to do. Any questions? Ask me :)
