Hi I'm Dave Alexander

Originally from Southern California and now I call South Texas my home. My favorite hobby is fishing for redfish, trout, or drum.

About Me

I enjoy purchasing distressed homes and fixing them up to rent out to families. This activity has taught me lots of different skills in remodeling as I work with my hands. I love the challenge of taking over a property that has been seriously neglected. The process of transforming a run down house and turning it into a beautiful home brings a lot of satisfaction. Kinda like what the savior does for us... If we humble ourselves and allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to mold us... we can realized our fullest potential and joy in this life as we learn new skills and talents we didn't know we had.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church my whole life because of my awesome parents! My grandpa on my dad's side is from Tennessee where his sister gave him a Book of Mormon in the early 1920s. Grandpa read the Book of Mormon and contacted the missionaries and asked to be baptized. My great, great, grandma on my mothers side had joined the church in 1855 in England. Then she traveled by boat, train, ox team to Provo, Utah. I read the Book of Mormon, just like my ancestors have, and come to know that these scriptures teach us how to follow our Savior Jesus Christs example. The joy this brings in my life simply can't be measured.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church each week to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ and understand better how to follow his example. I've enjoyed the opportunities in serving our church members and community like Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Food Bank, Beach Clean-up, Women's Shelter, Hurricane Clean-up, and much more.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Dave Alexander
Throughout history, God has chosen prophets, such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, and others, to teach the gospel and direct His Church (Amos 3:7). It is no different today. We all need God’s guidance in a world that is sometimes confusing. Because God loves His children, He continues to send living prophets. Joseph Smith (1805–44) was the first prophet of our time. Thomas S. Monson is God’s chosen prophet today. Just as God led the Israelites out of slavery and to a better place through His prophet Moses, He leads His children today into happier, more peaceful lives when they choose to follow His living prophet. We invite you to listen to the words of living prophets and consider how knowing God’s will can benefit your life. Show more Show less
