Hi I'm Linda.

I am a Registered Nurse. I run a free medical clinic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 63 year old grandmother of 13 absolutely gorgeous grandchildren. I am a retired nurse and my husband and I have just been called on a medical mission for the church. In my free time, I love to garden, sew and knit sweaters for those 13 grandchildren. Sometimes they are happy about that.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were all Mormons andwho descended from Mormon pioneers so there was no question if or where I would go to church as I was growing up. When I was 17, I decided that I needed to find out for myself if it was true. I went to a room by myself and knelt down to pray. As I finished asking, I got the most peaceful, calm, happy feeling I had ever experienced. I knew then that what I had been taught growing up was right and I just needed to stick with the plan. That experience has made the trials in my life easier to get through, because I know for sure that there is a purpose for it all and there is more to God's plan than just what is happening right now.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things to do is volunteer at our local free medical clinic and help take care of people who don't have insurance or a doctor. I always finish my shift there feeling so appreciative for the many blessings that the Lord has given me. I also play the piano and the organ and am called on often to provide music for our church meetings. It is a thrill to be able to share that talent.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Linda.
The purpose of the welfare system of the church is to assist folks who need temporary assistance to care for themselves and their families. This assistance is designed to given them a chance to better their circumstances so that they can become fully self-reliant. Meaningful work is rewarding to everyone both physically and mentally and self-reliance allows everyone to experience that growth and satisfaction. Show more Show less
