Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a mom, a wife and a homemaker. I'm a Mormon, and a Christian.

About Me

I'm a mom, and stay busy taking care of my home and family. I have lived in several states and love my diverse background. I feel it helps me relate to a variety of people. I love music (especially playing piano), reading, games, sewing, scrapbooking and movies. I also enjoy working in the yard, entertaining and baking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was eight years old. I don't know that I had any major spiritual experience up to that point in time. However, I had been taught correct principles and had a desire to follow the Lord. By the time I was twelve, I had had many spiritual experiences that helped me to know that my Savior knew me and it was important to keep the commandments. When I was twelve, I had a brain tumor that nearly took my life. I always valued my life after that, and knew what a precious gift it was. I am so thankful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that it is the only complete gospel here on the earth. I love my Savior. I know that he died to redeem me from my sins and that he was resurrected. I know that I will see him again, when my life on earth is through. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and translated the Book of Mormon, with divine help and by divine authority. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that families can be together forever, and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet in our day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day in many different ways. First, and most important, I teach my children what they need to do to be happy and keep the commandments. I honor my relationship with my husband. I have served in many capacities in the church. I have played piano for the children's group and the women's group in our church, for various meetings. I have been a teacher of singing as well as gospel lessons, for the children's group. I also served as an instructor for the women's group for a short time. I have helped to plan and carry out many activities and events. I also visit a group of women in my area once a month and share a gospel message with them. Currently, I am working with the youth group. I absolutely love being around them. In the community, I help out at the school and a number of community activities.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Stephanie
Absolutely NOT. We are taught that to serve others is to serve Jesus Christ. I believe it is most important to serve people you know in your community, who need your help. It doesn't matter to me whether they are Mormons or not. If they need help, I'm going to help them! Show more Show less
