Hi I'm Ashley

I'm from Alberta Canada. I'm currently serving a Mission in West Virginia. I love anything adventurous. And i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up trying all types of sports including: Speed skating, figure skating, hockey, soccer, tennis, curling, baseball, etc... I am the second youngest of 8 children. I am an Aunt of 2 nieces and 2 nephews. I am a college student at BYU-Idaho, but am currently taking an 18 month break from school as I serve a Mission in West Virginia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church, but when I was about 15 years old, I realized that I had been relying on my parents faith. I went a couple of years not even really believing in God... It was a very hard time in my life, until I knew that I needed to find out for myself if God really was there, and if He did in fact love me. After a lot of study and questions, I decided to read the Book of Mormon, then ponder and pray, asking God if He was there, and if it the Book of Mormon was true (and if it was where I was supposed to be). I didn't even have to finish the book before I knew without a doubt, that everything in that book was true, God and Jesus Christ are there, and they really do love me! I also gained a testimony That the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 18 years old, I moved to BYU-Idaho so that I could further my education and get a degree in Architecture. I had no idea how much moving there would impact my entire life. About two months into my first semester, I started to realize that I needed to do something with my life. I wasn't sure at the time exactly what that was... until my friend opened his mission call. The second he opened his call, I knew that I wanted to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A couple of months later, I finally received my mission call. I opened it and found out that I was assigned to serve in the West Virginia Mission. The second I read that, I knew without a doubt that it was called of God, because I instantly knew that West Virginia was exactly where I needed to be. I have already learned so much on my Mission, and I'm so thankful that God chose me to serve His children in West Virginia. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God, and restored Christ's true Gospel. I'm so thankful for my knowledge of Eternal Families, and that God is our loving Heavenly Father. I know that through God, I can do all things which are expedient unto Him.

How I live my faith

I grew up helping my parents plan church events such as Christmas nativities, Reflections of Christ, etc and loved every minute of it. I love to serve in the church no matter what it is.
