Hi I'm Bruce

I am a businessman, an ex-mission president, a grandfather of 20 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Burbank, California and went to college at Brigham Young University. I received degrees in accounting and an MBA. I have worked for Hewlett-Packard and Corporation Service Company. I have worked for CSC for 23 years where I was President and CEO before being asked to serve as a mission president in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission from 2010 to 2013. We are now home in Delaware and I am again working at CSC. I did a stint in Delaware politics from 1985-1989 where I ran campaigns and worked as Executive Director of the Delaware Republican State Committee, was deputy chief of staff for the governor and also ran Governor Mike Castle's re-election campaign in 1988. I love golf and playing with my grandkids. Nancy and I love traveling - especially to white sandy beaches.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a believer that we have a Heavenly Father who knows us very personally and loves us dearly. As a manifistation of that love he sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have prayed to know whether or not it was true. I have felt the Holy Ghost tell me it is and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He saw God the Father and the Son when he prayed and translated the Book of Mormon through the gift and power of God. We have a prophet on the earth today. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same church that Jesus established when he was on the earth and he is still directing it. What a blessing it is to have this truth with us today.

How I live my faith

I try to emmulate the life of Jesus Christ in how I treat other people. I hope the people I work with and deal with see me as someone who believes in the teachings of the Savior. I always try to make time for people and to be sincerely interested in what they are doing. Most recently I was involved in being responsible for 250 missionaries in Salt Lake City, Utah. My wife and I served there for 3 years. It was an amazing experience to see how young men and women developed and changed by serving full-time missions. Since coming home we have been asked to work with the youth of the Church and help those who don't have college educations begin to pursue an education through BYU Idaho in a program called Pathways. This program allows kids who otherwise would not be able to get into college to pursue a degree with mentoring and some special focus. We hope to always be helping others and by doing so be Disciples of Jesus Christ.
