Hi I'm Sam

I come from the country. I'm a filmmaker. I drive a clunker van with a flower garden fence for a grill. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

From day one as an Earthling I was a person who enjoyed creativity. Graduating from LEGOs to short stories and piano, I've followed my passions from one end of the spectrum to another. My family has always been supportive, despite the fact I'm the black sheep of the bunch. My favorite hobby is making everyone around me laugh, and my creativity leads me to do so via Youtube, music, stage plays, or simply conversing with those I call friend, (which is everyone I meet).

Why I am a Mormon

I am about as Mormon as they come. I come from Nephi, a small town in the desert of Utah, so named after a name from the Book of Mormon. My family has always been a fantastic example in going to church and in worshiping God, but being the hands-on-learner I am, an example isn't quite enough. I have to try it out and touch it. How great it is that there is something for me to touch and read myself: the Book of Mormon. As I've read it, imagining the stories of Captain Moroni, Alma, and of course, Nephi, I have understood more and more about the being we call God. He is my Father in Heaven, and He has blessed me with the opportunity to have all of his Gospel. How can I turn this away?

How I live my faith

The brilliance of the Gospel is that it not only does it help us be a better church goer, but it really makes us a better person. As I understand more about who I am and who all of God's children are, I feel a greater respect for life and for everyone around me. I search to help how I can, to share what I have with them, and always stand as an example for others. I have many opportunities to do this, since my personality usually makes me a prime choice to organize and run activities. I also just love opportunities to help others smile and feel better.

Are Mormons Christians?

There is no doubt that we are. We talk of Christ, we preach of Christ, and most importantly, we live as Christ (the best that we can). Our very name declares that we are "The Church of Jesus Christ...". Many will say that we are not Christian because we believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three distinct persons, but in every way we follow the teachings of Christ, both in ancient scripture and modern revelation. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The temple is a little taste of Heaven on Earth. Just like we must be prepared and be worthy for entrance into the kingdom of God, we must do the same to enter within His house. Show more Show less
