Hi I'm Taunya

I love spanish. I have many hobbies. I love the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am serving a full time mission in California, spanish speaking. Before my mission I recieved my associates degree in Education. I am studying to be an elementary teacher. I love children and before my mission I took care of many children. I love to spend time with my family. It is my favorite thing to do. She is so fun to be with. I also love to read and draw in my spare time. I like to play soccer, and I love mexican food. I also love to play the piano. I also love to things out doors like hicking, and camping. I also have sung in an insitute choir, and I love to sing even though I am not wonderful at it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But I was not obligated to stay. My father asked me when I was 8 years old if I would like to be baptized. I chose to be baptized because I knew it was what the Lord wanted me to do and also because I knew the church was true. I have always known that the church was true. I am a Mormon because I chose to be. And I know that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

I always try to participate in every event I can from the church. Before my mission I was involved in choirs, teaching classes, and picking music for some classes in the church. I always tried to do my visiting teaching and to help in any way that I could. I go to church every Sunday and I try to always be available when ever some in church needed anything. Now as a missionary I go around teaching people every day about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how that it has blessed my life. I even play the piano in church when it is needed. I love to play and sing the hymns of the church and I love to serve in any way that I can.

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision refers to the spring of 1820 when Joseph Smith went to a grove of trees to ask God what church was true. Because Joseph Smith wanted to know how He could follow God. In answer to Joseph's prayer he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. And Joseph Smith talked with them, and he recieved his answer. That no church on the earth had all of the truth, and that he was called to be a prophet. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that the Bible is the word of God. It is record of the covenant, or promise, that God made with the house of Israel. It is the writings of the Apostles and Prophets and it is holy scripture. We believe that God has given the Bible to us because He loves us, and He wants us to know His gospel so that we can follow His teachings. Show more Show less
