Hi I'm Philip Roach

I'm a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I Love it!

About Me

I'm 19 years old and am currently going to school at BYU-Idaho. I'm serving a mission a mission to the Ghana kumasi mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the gospel and know that it is true and have seen many blessings from living the gospel. I'm writing this profile for members and nonmembers, to invite you to come unto Christ and live His TRUE gospel. It definitely will give you the most joy and it will make you as perfect as you can be. It will help you to be the best you can be. I don't want the non-members to assume the church isn't true. If you come across missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I want you all to give the missionaries some time to teach the Restored gospel to you. I can guarantee what they tell you IS more important than anything else that you could be doing. I've gone out with the missionaries many times from my home ward and i've seen so many people who don't want to give them a chance to tell a great message that can produce much joy. As you listen to the missionaries message pay attention to the feelings you have as you listen to them. It would help the missionaries greatly if you don't argue with them with bad misconceptions about the church or trying to defend your beliefs with anything from the Bible. Just let them talk and you can ask questions. I think it should just make sense to you. I want you to pray about the message the missionaries share and ask our Heavenly Father if it is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I had it easy because my parents were both great members of the church. Personally I didn't care if it was the true church when I was little. I came to church because that's what I had to do every week and I had my best friends to see each week. I guess I just always felt that the teachings I received were true and I didn't have any reason to doubt it. Fortunately for me my parents were great members and took me to church each week, or my life could've been dramatically changed. I wonder if I would be like the less-actives in the church, who are missing out on the Great Blessings of living God's True Gospel, or I could possibly not be a member at this point. I can almost guarantee to those that read this that your greatest friends should and most likely will be the friends you have that go to church. All you non-members who want to be members will have it harder than I did. I always had all the commandments and knew what I could and couldn't do. I think usually most non-members who want to be members have a problem with the word of wisdom, which is drinking tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages, and doing drugs or smoking cigarettes. I want to let you know that these things are bad for you and those who use these things probably know that. I also want to tell you that you CAN get out of the addictions of these things by the power of prayer and repentance. You all probably don't realize how close the Lord is to us.You can pray for help anytime and our Father in Heaven will hear you and help you. Since you have to buy all the things in the word of wisdom you can make it easy and just not buy it, but I would imagine you would have to be a strong person with a strong will to do that. You may have to work on it a step at a time, but the Lord will bless you as you continually try to keep His commandments.Trust me when I say that this gospel is the best thing in life and you should look into it.

How I live my faith

I have helped in a lot of service opportunities over the years. I have helped in many eagle projects and youth conference service projects. I also visit with many people from the church with the missionaries. These are mostly the inactive members, because living the gospel can be a hard thing for people, but it is the best to know the true gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored to us I continually try to do my best to live the commandments given to us by our Father in heaven. I go out with the missionaries a lot teaching the gospel with the elders as I prepare for my mission. I also try to study the scriptures a little bit everyday and it has brought me more and more knowledge each day. I'm at the point where it kills me that I know what I should do, but I don't always choose to do the best things in life. There are a lot of distractions that we have try and push away, but it can be tough. I'll be happy when I don't have video games and tv while I'm on my mission, so I can always focus on the things that are important. I just try to do the best I can to try and make it back to our Father in heaven forever and know that I've done my best and fulfilled my life's mission on earth. I love everyone on this earth, because we are all brothers and sisters of our Father in heaven. That's why I want to make this profile for you to read and learn about the gospel and receive the same happiness that I have had all my life. Most of the people in the church are the best people you will ever meet and will want to help you if you'll ask them. Since I didn't talk about other stuff I do, I'll put it here. I love music and no one should have to live without it. I strive for uplifting messages in music, so I don't really listen to music that's currently popular, unless it's a good message and not vulgar. I like to play the trumpet and baritone. I like to play all kinds of sports. I like to run and go to the gym when I can. I really like hiking and camping outside as well.
