Hi I'm Allison

I'm from Fresno, California. I am serving in the Montana Billings Mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had lots of ideas about what I want to do with my life. I've spent a little time on alot of things. I've spent some time in school and I have had more jobs than I can count right now. My favorite job that I ever had was when I was an assistant preschool teacher. I love kids and now I know I want to be a kindergarten teacher. My niece and nephews are some of my favorite people. I've moved around between California and Utah quite a bit throughout my life. Music is something I love dearly. It's helped me sort through countless thoughts and emotions in my life. I have minimal musical talent but I think that makes me appreciate it more. I love to run! I have asthma which makes it difficult but someday I am going to run a marathon. I believe that optimism & faith are vital for me. I want to continue to overcome the limitations and obstacles that have been placed before me. I am determined. Before I die, I want to have visited every state and several other countries. I want to experience all kinds of culture and see how others have lived their lives. Currently I am serving in the Montana Billings Mission. I have been working towards this for what seems like a long time now and I'm so grateful for this experience. I never thought someone like me would ever serve a misison but so far it has been a great blessing and a privelage. And I still have so much to learn and do! Life is so exciting to me and I love to think about all the great things that are to come!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But I never really was able to accept it just because it was there in my life. I actually left the Church at a pretty young age because I couldn't see that it was true and I didn't believe it could help me with my problems. I tried many other avenues that always led me to dead ends. Eventually, I needed to know for myself if God was really there and if He loved me. I came to know that He was. Over time I also came to know that Jesus Christ was truly my Savior, and that He loved me too. But I could still feel that something was missing from my life. I prayed to know what that was. I felt led to the LDS Church and I decided that I would do all I could to get an answer from God, to know whether or not this was His path for me. It took a big commitment from me. I had to be willing to follow through with the answer, no matter what that was. I prayed, studied, went to church on Sundays, and I met with the missionaries. I sincerely wanted to know what was truth. Through faith in Jesus Christ, I received an answer that no one could ever take away from me. The Holy Ghost touched my heart in a way that I could understand what the Lord wanted me to know. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that the Book of Mormon is God's word. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church on earth. This Gospel has brought me more happiness than anything else I've ever known.

How I live my faith

Today, I continue to come closer to my Heavenly Father through prayer and through obedience to His commandments. I do my best to do what I know is right so that I can feel His love and support for me. I keep trying to learn more about Jesus Christ and that gives me an example of what I can strive to be like. I know that Christ is the Savior of the world and through His atoning sacrifice, I can be made whole. As a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I live my life in a way that is new to me. I study the Book of Mormon every day instead of just reading it. I try to learn new things from it daily and apply it to my own life. I take the things that I learn and I share them with the people here in my mission. I try to serve others and share with them this Gospel that others shared with me. Right now I am trying to develop stronger faith in Jesus Christ. I am studying it from the scriptures and trying to understand how I can have enough faith to accomplish all that the Lord would have me do. The more I study, learn, and act on these things that I learn, the more I feel my Savior's love for me. I am so grateful for the growth that I can make through faith and repentance. Action and footwork are the way to know of a surety that you are on the right path. That is how I learned for myself that this Church is true. I experimented and I came to know. -Alma Chapter 32
