Hi I'm Taylor

I'm from Taylorsville, Utah. I'm a college student, a Batman-fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Taylor. I grew up in Utah, and spent most of my growing years in Taylorsville in the Salt Lake Valley. I'm the oldest of three kids and have an awesome family. I served a two-year Spanish-speaking mission for the church in Orlando, Florida, and it was one of the greatest times of my life. I'm also getting married next month to an incredible girl! I love to play all types of sports, some of my favorites are tennis, basketball, and disc golf. I also love music and movies. I have a passion for Superheroes, in particular Batman, and this year I started co-hosting a podcast about him called Beyond the Batcave. I was born with a small case of Klippel Fiel syndrome, which basically means that a few of the vertebrae in my uppermost spine were fused together at birth. It was fragile when I was younger, a surgery in 2009 helped stabilize it, and it doesn't stop me from doing anything that I want to or love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by my parents as a member of the church. I never really doubted the truthfulness of the things I was raised up learning, and stayed true and obedient to the things I learned throughout my youth. As i grew and matured, however, I did realize, from parents and other such mentors that I needed to start working towards gaining my own testimony of the things that I was doing if it was going to play a large and important role in my life. I choose to follow the restored gospel of Jesus Christ becuase I have asked my Heavenly Father if the things that I want to believe and have believed are true, and he has shown me in countless ways, through feelings of peace, joy and happiness, that they are true. I've felt his love in numerous ways in my life, and know I will continue to as I follow the path he wants for me.

How I live my faith

When I'm living my faith right, it's a part of everything that I am and everything that I do. It's striving to know what the Savior would do if here was where I am, and then having the courage to do it. It means putting others first, even when it's inconvenient for me. I live my faith by remembering why I'm here on this earth, and not trying to do anything that is out of line with that purpose. I live my faith by living a life of joy. That's how he would have me live if he were here, and he'd want me to do all in my power to help others do the same.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We believe in doing good to all men. We try to follow the Savior's example in help all who are in need, whether they are accepting of what we believe or not. The love of service and charity knows no bounds, and it is through loving service that we come to see people as God sees them. Show more Show less
