Hi I'm Alex

I play soccer, I play drums, and I love snowboarding. I love being with my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a strong religious family. My parents have always emphasized putting the Lord first in mine and my siblings lives. As I've grown up, I have always felt a close connection with my Father in Heaven. I've been going to Weber State University for college, and then I paused everything in my life to serve a full-time mission for 2 years in the Lansing Michigan Mission. I have many hobbies and things I've done for fun in my life. I've played soccer ever since I can remember, and it's been something that i just love to do. All for the love of a beautiful game. I played on competitive teams, high school, and a big chunk of my life has been playing soccer and traveling to play soccer. I've also played the drums for most my life. I started taking drum lessons in 5th grade, and as i went to high school i played marching snare in the drumline. I also played with a rock band on my drum set. Drumming is a skill and joy that i will always cherish in my life. I've always enjoyed riding things that go fast. I grew up around motorcycles and riding motorcycles was something that i would do with my dad and my brother to bond and have fun. Snowboarding has also been a huge part of my life, another thing I grew up doing with my dad while he skiied. Snowboarding is probably my favorite thing to do. I love being in the mountains white-full of snow, speeding down them, and getting the thrill of some air-time. No day goes by faster than the days I spend on the slopes.

Why I am a Mormon

As i've said before, i grew up in a strong Christ-centered home. My parents have always taught me the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ growing up; teaching me how to pray and read the scriptures. As i got older i was able to see the benefit from living the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my daily life. I started to read the Book of Mormon everyday on my own, and i prayed every morning and night, and the small seed of faith i planted as a child from being taught the Gospel by my parents, grew into an unshakable faith and testimony of the Restored Gospel. I have received a witness of the truth of this Gospel from my personal prayers, the relationship i've developed with my Heavenly Father, and living the doctrines and principles taught in the Gospel. I have come to know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that we have a Prophet who God speaks to today, because i know through sincere reading and prayer, that the Book of Mormon is true and bears solemn testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by continuing my daily habit of reading the scriptures and praying. I also try and treat others as the Savior would. I very much recognize that i'm far from perfect, and that i need the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I strive everyday to access that power in my life to help change me into who my Father in Heaven wants me to be. I am serving a full time mission for two years, spreading the good news of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
