Hi I'm Gage Smith

I love to sing, act, and live life to its fullest. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently on my mission and loving it! I grew up in the church, and was raised by two very loving parents. They have always supported me in anything that I do. I love the preforming arts, it is my passion. I have been in numerous plays and musicals, including Wizard of Oz, Oliver!, Peter Pan, Much Ado About Nothing, and many more. I love to sing as well, and have been doing it my entire life. My taste of music might be a bit different than others, delving into the post-hardcore scene with my favorite bands being Alesana and Silverstien. But that is my life, and I love it a lot!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but I would still consider myself a convert. I was always taught certain things, and of course they would make sense. But my parents would never force me to do anything, and I wanted to go to church because I wanted to learn more. When I was old enough to really understand what the church was about, and how I had come to develop a relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ, and my Heavenly Father, I really wanted to know for myself. So I did what we are all invited to do, and that is to test our faith and ask our Eternal Father if the Church was true. When I did, I received a very special witness for myself that the Church was indeed true. And I did the same when I was preparing to go on a mission. And again, I received a very clear answer that it was what I was supposed to do. And that is where I am today! Out trying to teach the wonderful people of West Virginia about the True Gospel of Jesus Christ. There isn't anywhere I would rather be.

How I live my faith

Well, right now I am on my mission. A very special time for me where I can give two years of my life to my Lord and my Heavenly Father. So I can help in the gathering of His sheep back to His flock. I love this work with all my heart. Some would say that it is a sacrifice, being out here for two years. I had to give up my family, my friends, work and school, but I still wouldn't say it is a sacrifice. It is a privilege. That Heavenly Father would trust me enough to teach His children is an amazing thing to me. And I wish to do the absolute best that I possibly can. And that is what I'm going to do! Even before my mission, though, I did my best to live my faith. Others would often tease me for it, but I always did my best to let it roll off of my shoulders. I tried to be kind, friendly, and tried to act the way the Savior would have me act. After all, I had taken upon myself Jesus' name when I was baptized, and I never want to blemish that name.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Gage Smith
Yes, I believe that we are saved by grace. But the grand question is: How have we been changed by Grace? Grace is a grand and eternal principle, and it only thru our Savior Jesus Christ that we are saved. But we need to be truely changed by the grace He gave us to be saved. After all, I think it is only fair that we should do all we can for Jesus, after all, He did open the gates of Heaven for us all. For you, and for me. And if we really do understand that, it is only natural that we would have a desire to change and to become more Christ-like. Show more Show less
