Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Louisiana. I am a natural redhead. I love to dance, laugh, smile and I am a mormon.

About Me

I like to think of my life as an old road. A LOT of pot holes, and cracks, but you eventually get to the end....to paradise. I come from an abusive background, but I have always tried to find the positive in all things. Through my life, I have found many bright lights, and most being the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a student currently at BYU-Idaho, though I never thought I would ever say that. It wasn't until I was 18 years old, did I ever hear of a state called "Idaho" and I never knew what BYU stood for. I met the missionaries June of 2007 and that was the beginning of a miraculous transformation in my life. Long story short, I was Catholic, had a change of heart, searched and prayed for my true meaning of life, answered the door, and the missionaries were there. I was baptized November 18, 2007. I moved to Rexburg, Idaho August 15th, 2008, and met my best friend Winter of 2009. About three years later, I married that "best friend" in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple. I love my life, and I love this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I found the answers to life's simplest questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? Does God (if there is one) Love me? Thanks to the missionaries, prayers, and reading the Book of Mormon (amongst the other scriptures) I found those answers. I know I am a daughter of God, I know I came from Him, and I do know and have a firm testimony that my Heavenly Father loves me. I have felt His love, and arms surrounding me during my darkest and brightest hours. He is there. He's just waiting for us to call Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by smiling at everything and everyone in my life. I visit teach the sisters I am assigned to, and I visit EVERYONE I can find. I love sharing my testimony. I tell people about my conversion and how much happier I am in my life, now that I have found a relationship with our Heavenly Father. When people ask me how or why I am so happy, I say "Why Not?!". I live my faith also by serving the people around me, members and non-members alike. All are the same to me. We are all brothers and sisters, so why not love you all?! My favorite calling I have ever had in the church is FHE (Family Home Evening) Coordinator. My partner and I organized all of the ward's Home Evening activities for the entire ward and always had a blast doing games and cracking jokes.
