Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a BYU-I student, I'm a brony, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently on a medical deferrment from BYU-I but will be returning this winter. I love reading books(probably have read hundreds) my favorite series of books are the Great and Terrible series by Chris Stewart. I enjoy biking, hiking, and helping others. I am an eagle scout. Over the past year I have gotten into the brony fandom. A brony is someone who is a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic who is outside of the target demographic of young girls. I am a returned Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in the Idaho Nampa mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my whole life and it has felt right to stay in the church for the time being.

How I live my faith

I've been blessed to have opportunities to help others with their trials in life because I always felt alone in my trials; I had no friends due to my social-awkwardness and I don't want anyone to feel the same pain of loneliness I did. I love being a good friend to anyone I can and I've had many opportunities to help many feel loved and have a knowledge that someone does care: not that only I do, but that God cares and He can more than me or anyone. I always encourage people to turn their trials to Heavenly Father. I've also had an opportunity of leadership-being a president over the 14 and15 year-old boys in my church when I was 15. With that calling in my church, I was able to reach out to those who felt they were not included much. I also had the opportunity to organize many projects and meetings for those boys. I've been blessed to be involved in countless service projects, whether it was from Mormon helping hands, opportunities to serve the community through Mutual(a type of youth group in the LDS church) or through boy scout service projects I have served a mission for the church to help spread the Gospel, which I know God would want all of us to do.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The church doesn't endorse any political party. In fact in the early days it was just the opposite and Hyrum Smith once taught: "We engage in the election the same as in any other principle; you are to vote for good men, and if you do not do this it is a sin; to vote for wicked men, it would be sin. Choose the good and refuse the evil. Men of false principles have preyed upon us like wolves upon helpless lambs... Let every man use his liberties according to the constitution. Don't fear man or devil; electioneer with all people, male and female, and exhort them to do the thing that is right. We want a President of the U.S., not a party president, but a President of the whole people; for a party President disfranchises the opposite party. Have a President who will maintain every man in his rights." -Hyrum Smith As you can see he taught to "vote for good men" and a "president of the U.S, not a party president". Members are encouraged to vote for good men and not just because the candidate is a member of a party. Show more Show less
