Hi I'm Karen

I was born in California, and I've lived here since I was four. I am studying physics in college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a third year physics major. I have a younger sister and two older brothers. I share my family's love of astronomy, physics, and math, but I also enjoy arts and crafts. I like to draw, needle felt, take photos, and knit, and I am exploring other craft media. I've been playing piano for six years, and I play the harp a little bit. I ran cross country in high school, and I still run to train for the occasional half marathon, marathon, or Ragnar relay race. I have discovered fencing in a college class, and it is now one of my favorite activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was raised in the church. I like the church and have seen how it has blessed my life and I am very happy to have had it my whole life. I have come to love reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, and I feel closer to God when I study His words. I am also grateful for the knowledge the church has given me about eternal families and the opportunity to again be with our loved ones who have passed on.

How I live my faith

I play the piano for two different meetings at church, and I plan to learn the organ soon for one of those meetings. I attend several weekly religion classes, where I am also often asked to accompany the opening hymn. I coordinate housing for people moving into the area who want to live with other members, and I find transportation for people who need it to come to church and church activities.
