Hi I'm Brett Holdaway

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a beautiful wife, but with no kids yet. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball, football, and frisbee. I just recently graduated from college in Chinese and now I am getting ready to move to another state away from family for graduate school, with the hopes of getting into medical school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even though I was raised this way, I still had doubts of who I was and if this church was true. It wasn't until I was in Seminary and I read the Book of Mormon from to cover to cover that I became fully converted. I remember the feelings I felt as I read the Book of Mormon. I knew it was true. Since then, I make sure I don't go a day without reading from the Book of Mormon because it gives me great strength to follow Jesus Christ and live His teachings and just makes me feel happy. I know that this is God's church. The spirit has continually testified this to me. I know that Christ lives and loves us all.

How I live my faith

Each day I always try to keep Jesus Christ in my thoughts. Even though I was finishing up college and applying to graduate school I served in my ward's Bishopric. In this calling I spent time each week visiting and uplifting members within my ward and preparing Sunday's worship service. As I prayed for the members in my congregation and served them and the Lord, I felt amazing strength come from the Lord to finish my school work and other responsibilities. I also make sure I pay my tithing, which is ten percent of my income, and attend the temple twice a month. In the end though, I live a normal life and do my best to follow my Savior Jesus Christ.
