Hi I'm Bethany McClain

I love being in nature, secondly in the kitchen. Laughing is my favorite hobby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of nine kids. I was raised in the Western United States, and spent most of my time in nature, buried in a book, or lost in my own imaginations. I have always had an awareness of spiritual things and was blessed to be raised by parents who helped me learn to recognize the power of the Holy Ghost. I LOVE Heavenly Father's creations, especially nature. Some of my other passions include singing, going to plays, quoting movies, family vacations, laughing with my friends, studying history, and literature (yep, I'm a bookworm!). I love creating beautiful things. I was homeschooled/ did independent study during my teen years. I love being in the kitchen! I've traveled to Europe. I am currently on the BEST journey of my life -serving a full-time mission in Orlando Florida!- for my Heavenly Father and Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I never wanted anything different. If I ever found myself drifting away, I would quickly find that I was (and still am) happiest when I keep the commandments of God. As I was taught by my parents, studied from the Book of Mormon, and kept going to Church- all these things built my faith. But it wasn't until a couple of years ago that my conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ deepened as I gained a personal understanding of the Atonement. The beauty of Jesus Christ's gospel only gets deeper the more life I live. Looking back on many experiences in my life, I've come to see that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has carried me all along, and I never realized it. My conversion didn't happen overnight. It was a series of experiences, one step of faith at a time. So often in my life, I want things to happen at the snap of a finger, but our Heavenly Father doesn't work that way. He molds and shapes me one day at a time. I know that Jesus Christ knows each of us personally. He has walked in our shoes, and He continues to walk with us daily, whether we know it or not. I stand all amazed that His love is infinite despite (or maybe it is because of?) our weaknesses.

How I live my faith

One day at a time! I strive to do my best, and my "best" is going to look different every day, because no day is the same as the next. The beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that I have the chance to repent and change daily! What a gift! Each day can be started fresh. All this because of our Savior. I try to find the beauty in every day, and find things to be grateful for. Heavenly Fathers gives us so many miracles a day, it is up to us to see them. Oh and by the way, our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and find joy, so it is okay to SMILE! :)
