Hi I'm Kylie Green

I love art, language, music, and people. I'm a big sister, a helpful smile, and a high school senior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an eldest child, and I love my family! I love speaking Spanish and getting to know new people. In high school I was involved in Student Government, our anti-drug and alcohol team STORM, and Knowledge Bowl. I want to see the world. I love art: painting, drawing, sewing, you name it! I'm a huge fan of indie-folk and indie-rock music, and classic movies. I also love to laugh. I'm a firm believer that life is beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a personal testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that this church contains the fullness of His gospel. The Book of Mormon is, as it says on the cover, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Through personal study and prayer, I have come to know that it is true. It has given me so much guidance throughout my life. The peace and hope that this church brings is incredible! Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has made me a better person. It has helped me draw closer to my Savior as I try to learn of, and follow, Him. I'm so grateful for all that he has done for each of us. Through his atonement, we can repent of our sins and return to live with him. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each of us personally. He loves you more than you can even begin to comprehend. I know that He knows us as individuals, and that He has a plan for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and by being a positive example. As the children's song goes, "I'm trying to be like Jesus". That's hard. But it's so worth it! So much happiness comes from living the Gospel! I live in an area where there aren't many Latter-Day Saints, so my friends and classmates don't always understand why I don't watch R-rated movies, why my prom dress had sleeves, or why I'm not all excited about the new Caribou Coffee coming to town. But I know that when I follow church standards, I am living my faith and following Jesus Christ. There is nothing that brings me more joy than the Gospel, so I'm doing my best to live it.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kylie Green
Absolutely yes! Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, the Son of God. He atoned for our sins, died on the cross, and was resurrected on the third day. He truly is, as it says in John 14:6, "the way, the truth, and the life". He walked alone so that we don't have to. Through his infinite atonement we can be healed from all pain and suffering. He knows you, and he loves you! I know that this is true, and I have felt his love in my life. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Kylie Green
The current president and prophet of the church is Thomas S. Monson. He has two counselors- Henry B. Eyering and Dieter F. Uchtdorf. Another important part of church leadership is the Quorum of the 12 Apostles- These 12 men fulfill the same roles as the apostles did during Christ's mortal ministry. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Kylie Green
The Law of Chastity is God's law concerning physical intimacy. Sexual Relations are to be exercised only between a lawfully wedded man and woman. Society often devalues or even mocks chastity and virtue. Immorality surrounds us. It is socially accepted- and sometimes even expected. But God's law does not change. He loves us and He knows what is best for us, so He gives commandments and asks us to follow them. As we follow Him, we will find true joy and receive countless blessings. Our bodies are a sacred gift, and living the Law of Chastity brings safety, power, and self-respect. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Kylie Green
I'm not married, so I'm probably not the best authority on marriage and family life. However, I have seen how faith in Jesus Christ has influenced my relationships with my family, friends, and others who I come in contact with. As I have come to learn and understand more about Jesus Christ, I have come to have a greater appreciation for the power of love. The Savior's life is full of examples of love, service, and forgiveness. Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is unconditional. Not all relationships are easy, but when we truly understand Christ's atonement- and realize that it was not only for us, but for everyone we have known and will ever know- we are more patient, we have a greater desire to serve, and we are more kind. Charity grows in our hearts. As we come to understand Christ's love, our relationships with those around us are strengthened, and we cannot help but feel his love for them. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kylie Green
Nope. Joseph Smith was a pretty cool guy, and restored the church to the earth, but we don't worship him. We worship only God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
