Hi I'm Amber

I love sports, politics, and history. I love experiencing new things, and I love anything international. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary in the Texas Houston South Mission-Spanish Speaking. I started my missionary service in the Spain Madrid Mission. I graduated from Southern Utah University with a degree in Political Science, and I will be attending law school soon. I love watching, playing, and talking about sports! I'm a classically trained pianist, with years of experience, and I love being able to sit down and master a new song. And thanks to my missionary service, I'm a fluent Spanish speaker!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised a Mormon, I had to develop my own personal understanding of what it is to be a Mormon. When I moved away to college, and started that time in my life where I was responsible for everything I did, I had a good long talk with myself about what I wanted out of life. I could see what my friends were doing, and what kind of lives they were living. But most importantly I could see what kind of life they might end up living. It became so clear to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was going to provide me with the foundation I needed to live the kind of life I wanted. But mostly, I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Not because somebody else told me it was, not because it was something I grew up with, but because I read it, and I prayed, and experienced for myself what the love of God really feels like. Being a Mormon doesn't automatically make the hard things of life go away. I've had greater struggles in the last year than ever before. And this has been the year that I have felt closest to God. Being a Mormon gives me a new perspective, and a support system that can't be found anywhere else. I knew that in my darkest hour, my Savior, Jesus Christ was right there next to me. I knew that I had a friend, who knew exactly how I was feeling, and what I needed to be able to continue on. I found so much comfort in the Book of Mormon. And I know that I would not be able to find this comfort anywhere else. I wouldn't trade this knowledge for anything. I might have to make a few sacrifices, but it is definitely worth it.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, I have the wonderful opportunity to share the one thing that has brought the most joy into my life: the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm always willing to lend a helping hand, and I do everything I can to make sure that I am worthy to be called a Mormon!
