Hi I'm Naresh Sookhan

Im from the sweet island of Trinidad, I love serving the Lord and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized when I was 8 and have been in the church for most of my life. I'm from the island of Trinidad and I'm a typical "trini" so I love the Caribbean cuisine and just hanging out with my friends. I love sports and being active. I'm currently serving as a missionary in the Florida Tampa Mission (The best mission in the world!)

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church I truly gained my testimony as a teen when was going through the roughest part of my life thus far until I received a simple invitation by someone that is close to me to read the Book of Mormon on my own. That was the changing point of my life because by simply reading that book I realized how much more our Father in heaven loves us individually as His children that He gave His only begotten Son for us. I have come to know what He wants for us and the things in which we need to do in other to receive those marvelous blessings in this life and in the next which gave me a strong purpose for my life which I needed and I think everyone needs. I'm human and make mistakes but I know through the Savior's Atonement and His love I can be freed from guilt and bad feelings that comes from them. I know that the Lord has once again reached out to His children and restored His church on the earth and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, His Church, simply because I know its true.

How I live my faith

I think its very important for us not just to believe and love our Savior Jesus Christ but to show it by serving Him. It is my reason for voluntarily dedicating 2 years of my life to doing just that as His full time missionary. I live my faith by seeking to learn more about my Savior and Redeemer through His gospel and by living it. In doing so, I learn to subject myself, not to my will, but His.
