Hi I'm Daniel Squires

I'm a missionary, a psychology major at BYU, a guitarist, a golfer, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the youngest of 4 siblings, and I have never really liked being a part of the crowd. I have lived most of my life in Las Vegas, but now I live in Provo, UT where I go to school. I am currently studying Psychology at Brigham Young University and one day hope to become an I/O Psychologist, which is basically someone who helps make businesses more streamlined and efficient, working on an individual as well as a large-scale basis. My hobbies and interests include playing golf, guitar, and listening to music. I guess my musical taste is not for everyone; I typically avoid the radio or anything super mainstream. I am more into music for the musicality and talent of the musicians instead of just to have something on in the background. I also really like eating cereal. I could eat cereal for every meal and be satisfied. I recently returned from a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany. I learned a lot about the Gospel and about service to others while I was there, and I am excited to apply everything I learned to my current life. One of the greatest joys I had on my mission was seeing people change because of the Gospel of Christ, myself included. I love the Gospel and have a desire to share it with others. It has blessed my life and the lives of my family members so much, and I want everyone to experience the joy that comes with living the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church; my whole family and most of my extended family are members. I had a lot to live up to with siblings and parents who were so strong in the church, but I didn't gain a real appreciation for the blessings the church offers until I experienced them for myself. I love the church and know it is true.

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I was not really a person who was willing to make an effort to get to know other people or make new friends. I guess I was slightly antisocial in a way, but I have always just been content with having a small group of friends that I know really well and calling it good. Clearly this kind of thing doesn't really work on something like a mission since you are talking to new people all day, everyday. I learned through these experiences to really branch out and try and be a friend to people in need. Christ gives us the ultimate example of a good friend, and I try now more to emulate what He did to make others feel important and loved. Christ also set a perfect example in service, and I have taken it upon myself to offer my help to anyone I see in need, even if I don't really know what the best way to help them is. I try to be an example to those around me so that they can see the Gospel in action and realize how much better life is with Christ at the center of it.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Daniel Squires
The Book of Mormon is another testament, like the Bible, that Jesus is the Christ and that He is the Son of God. I have seen throughout my mission how the Book of Mormon really changes and touches the lives of all who sincerely read it. It is a book of holy scripture with the words of God, revealed through His holy prophets. It is also concrete evidence that God called a new prophet in our days to reveal His word and lead His church. Its power and influence will bring one closer to God and His eternal truths than through any other book. Show more Show less
