Hi I'm Peter Beck

I love to create art and travel with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a family of six and live in Utah. I have an older sister, twin sister, and younger brother. I enjoy hiking in the Rocky mountains and slot canyons in southern Utah. I enjoy painting, drawing and sculpting. My parents have always encouraged me to develop my ability to create artwork. I am currently a studio art major at Brigham Young University with a 2-D emphasis. I also enjoy playing ultimate frisbee. I played the clarinet in high-school and still thoroughly enjoy it. I love to travel with my family. Some of my favorite vacations have been going to three of the Hawaiian islands, biking down the coast of Oregon, and visiting historical sites and cities along the east coast of the United States. I am currently serving as a missionary in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission and am loving it!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has always been Mormon. I was baptised when I was eight and have remained strong in the church. My family also has a long LDS history. Some of my ancestors were pioneers who traveled to Utah by handcart. My parents have been good examples of actively living the gospel of Jesus Christ, but I have my own testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Church he has organized on the earth. I have a strong testimony of the principles of the LDS church because I have lived them and have recognized the blessings and happiness in my life because of them. I have also studied the Book of Mormon and prayed about it to know that it is true. I know that I have had happiness in my life because of the opportunity to be baptized. I know that whenever I make a mistake, I can repent and be free from guilt because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I also know that the priesthood authority of God is on the earth to preform ordinances that allow me to live with my family for eternity if I live righteously.

How I live my faith

I go to church every sunday and partake of the sacrament. This allows me to renew my covenants, or in other words promises, with God to follow Jesus Christ and keep his commandments. I have been a secretary and set up appointments for the bishop of my ward when I attended Brigham Young University. I have also assisted in helping organize activities and teach the young men of my ward. I live my faith by trying to be Christ-like toward everyone I meet.
