Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Father, a Husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with one son at this time. I have worked in retail managment my whole life. I love to play sports. Football and Basketball mainly. I love to try and stay in shape when time allows. Working out is a great stress reliever. But the thing I love the most is spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had great faith. I remember speaking to my Grandfather as a child about God. I was raised Lutheran. I noticed in my 20's however that I felt something was missing. I felt the need to be helping people. I didn't feel like my family was were it was suppose to be. (my prev marriage at the time) When I was younger I was blessed with meeting who would become even more than a friend to me. He became part of my family. He was Mormon. It was the first time I had the oportunity to speak to somebody about the LDS faith. I remember the love I felt from him and his family. Fast forward many many years later, and I am now divorced. I have learned a lot during my prev marriage, and a prayed to God to bring somebody into my life that had the same values as I did. I found in this world today it was very hard meeting somebody who believed in how you should live your life the way I did. I then met my now wife. She was Mormon. She never tried to push me to learn about the church. She came to church with me, and I would go with her. Durning that time I picked up the book of Mormon. I felt from the start that the things I learned in church, and the things I read from scriptures was true. I have always felt strong promtings in my life, and this one was no different. That feeling I had when I was younger that something was missing in my life was now gone. Having the ability to be involved in church is amazing. It has made me a better man. It has helped me focus in on the things that are important. I love how it helps bring our family closer together. I am so proud of watching my son learn, and grow up into a great man. I truly feel God meant for me to find His Church. That I am to be an example to my family, and help all those that I can. It is a truly amazing blessing to have Gods gospil to help you live your life.

How I live my faith

My Faith has brought my family closer together. All the blessings that have come from living my Faith has made me so happy. It has better equipped me to handle everyday life. It has made me more patient, more forgiving, and more loving. Our family does many things together as a result of my faith. We read scriptures daily. We have family home evenings on Mondays. We pray daily as a family. We attend chuch and chuch functions together. My wife and I were givin the church calling of cub leaders. It is so great being able to teach those young kids with my wife by my side. My faith has givin me the ability to go out and share the gospil with others. Being able to go out with the missionaires and help others is a wonderful gift. This past May the chuch organized a helping hands campaign for our community. The fairgrounds was basically destoryed by a flood last fall. The fair around here is a big part of our area. The town did not think it had the money or man power to get everything done that needed to get done to open up this fall. So the chuch stepped in to help. It was so great seeing how many people gave their Sat for others. There were hundreds of us out there trying to make a difference. I was with a group that cleaned up an area in the playground area for the kids. We spent about 4 hours in this one spot, and it brought a huge smile to my face to see kids playing there later in the day for the first time since before the flood. I have been given some familes to home teach. I have not had the oppurtinity fo actual home teach somebody yet. I am really looking forward to being able to be there for another family. To get to know them, and hopefully help them in any way I can. God loves all his children. One of the things I love most about this faith is how it is organized to ensure we are growing as a family at home, and as a community.
