Hi I'm Haley

I grew up in Utah. I'm completing my masters degree in music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently going to school and will be receiving my master's degree in piano performance and pedagogy. I absolutely love teaching kids piano lessons, and also love playing classical music. I grew up in Utah most of my life, was homeschooled (it was awesome!) and just love life in general. I find happiness in many ways, but mainly through the simple pleasures of life: I love being in the kitchen creating healthy meals, being in the outdoors, reading a good book, and just spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I count it as one of my biggest blessings to have parents who taught me the gospel, lived it themselves and applied it in our home. I gained my testimony of the principles and doctrines of this church little by little as I lived them and felt their truthfulness confirmed to me. I've known from when I was young that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ, and that everything contained in it comes from God. I know that it was restored to the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that we have a living prophet today, Pres. Thomas S. Monson. I know that God loves us, and that we are His children. He has provided a plan and a way back to Him through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that by following Christ we can have happiness in this mortal life, and eternal happiness with our families hereafter.

How I live my faith

Living my faith brings me the most happiness I ever have experienced. I start each day by spending time with God through reading the scriptures, praying and meditating. My day goes so much better when I do this, I feel more optimistic and outgoing and friendly with other people when I make sure to spend time with God. Where I'm attending school (and studying so many incredible things!) I have the opportunity to attend institute - LDS religious classes where I'm able to learn more about how to live the gospel in every day life, and also get to meet other single college students my age! It's great to take just a few hours out of my busy school schedule each week to be reminded of things that matter eternally and also provides an uplifting and wholesome environment to socialize. My church congregation is comprised of people my age, and I help out with music in the meetings. I play the organ (it's so fun to do!) and get musical numbers together for meetings. I also visit two girls in our congregation once a month to build friendships and strengthen each other spiritually.
