Hi I'm Mindy

I grew up in Pleasant Grove, UT. I am a Certified Surgical Technician working for the Department of Veteran's Affairs Hospital.

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors, especially skiing. I like movies, camping, and cross-stitching. I am a Certified Surgical Technician with an Associate of Science degree and an Associate of Occupational Studies degree. I am single with no plans to marry. I currently share a residence with my mother and we are the best of friends. I once traveled back to New York on a church Heritage Tour and have been to Washington D.C. with "Close-Up" back when I was 16. I would love to see Australia and New Zealand someday since my family lived there once before I was born. I also once traveled to Alaska on a Princess Cruise!

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints because I chose to be baptized when I was eight years old and both of my parents are L.D.S. I believe in a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me more than anyone on earth. I can ask him anything and tell him everything. He doesn't always answer me the way I expect, but I believe someday we will all be rewarded for our works completed here on Earth. Anything negative or done to hurt another human being will be dealt with justly and eventually everyone will pay the consequences of any and every action...good or bad. I have strived to be a good example to family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. I hope and pray I have succeed along the way.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a Singles Representative for my Ward. I represent approx. 55 single, widowed, or divorced people age 30 and over. Since I work full-time, I do not regularly attend all of the activites. However, if anyone out there fits into this category...there is no excuse for loneliness or boredom what-so-ever! There are activities every single night of the week with plenty of opportunities to meet someone in a similar situation. I try to attend weekend activities without much success. However, I am trying which is why this calling will be good for me.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Church is a place you can go once a week to renew your covenants with God by partaking of the sacrament. Also, you learn basic gospel doctrine principals no matter what your age. I believe attending church regularly teaches self-discipline which can help you out in other areas of your life. The temples are places where worthy members can go to perform ordinances for the dead. When the resurrection takes place, everyone will have had an opportunity to accept or reject the gospel. You dress in your sunday best for both places, but once inside the temple you wear sacred white clothing that can be rented there or brought with you from a store which sells temple clothing. This clothing should be reserved for only the temple. Both places will bring you closer to our Heavenly Father and help you feel his spirit in your life. Show more Show less
