Hi I'm David Leavitt

I was raised in Utah, with New Zealand heritage. I love my rugby and LOVE my music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I basically have three passions in my life: sports, music, and my family. Oh, and Jesus. So four passions. I love to play all kinds of sports, but my favorite would have to be rugby. I love to sing, I love acting, playing guitar or the Ukulele. It's like there's a fire in my heart when I sing, it burns my soul! My family is my life, they are who I was, who I am, and who I want to become. Everything I am is because of them, and because of the effect that Jesus Christ has had in our lives. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loving every minute of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church my entire life and have been taught the principles of this gospel since I was born. I have never doubted the authenticity of the church because I trusted in my parents when they said they knew it was true. As I grew older, I started to wonder why I believed the church was true. I couldn't really say. I mean, my parents said it was true. All of my leaders said they knew it was true, but that wasn't enough for me. Why did I know it was true, what made it real to me? My soul hungered, I needed to know. Finally, I decided to do exactly what Joseph Smith did when he was a young man, that is "ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally" (James 1:5). As I prayed by my bed, the Spirit spoke to me with feelings of annoyingly indescribable peace, and I knew that the gospel is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, a man called to restore Christ's church. I know that I can live together with my family forever, that no matter what happens, as long as I live a righteous life, I will be with them, my heavenly family, and my Heavenly Father forever. Jesus Christ lived, suffered, and died for me. I know he continues to live today, continually blessing my life because He loves and desires the best for me. The Book of Mormon truely is the word of God. President Monson is God's prophet on the earth today. Heavenly Father knows us, and loves us. The blessings of the gospel are real, are tangible. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints trying my best to show others how much this gospel can bless their lifes and families. Without a doubt, Christ has made me a better person than I ever could have been on my own. The gospel changes lifes, changes hearts, changes souls. That is my message to the world: how great life is with Christ in your life, and that we can grow increasingly closer to Him through His gospel. Truely we can feel His love surround us as we immerse ourselves in His gospel. I am out trying my best to serve others in a way that I know is the best way to serve, that is helping others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through increasing their faith in Christ, and asking them to exercise their faith in Him. The blessings that come as we exercise our faith are indescribable. This is the hardest thing that I have ever done, but the joy I see in others as they recieve Christ into their lives is worth every sacrifice I can make.
