Hi I'm Cory

I grew up in Southern California. I love the beach, Water polo, and mashed Potatoes. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being in the Ocean, training in Ju-Jitsu and spear fishing. I played Water Polo for several years and coached for my old high school before leaving to serve a mission for my church. I am currently serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission. I love the opportunity it gives meet to meet so many different and unique people. It is a blessing to see the positive change that comes into peoples lives when they accept and follow the teachings of Christ. The scriptures teach us that "when you are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17).

Why I am a Mormon

growing up I had always believed in a God who loved and cared about me, and always looked to him in the hardest times. When I was in my teens I would go to other churches with my friends but was never one to be committed to anything let alone a church. In high school my best friend was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He invited me to learn more, but at the time I wasn't very interested. In fact I teased him about his faith quite often having listened to all the roomers I been told about the "Mormons". I didn't take it very seriously until one day he bore his testimony to me. I knew he believed it with all his heart and it left me speechless. Shortly after he left to serve a mission in Fiji. Not too long after that I began to retake the discussions from the missionaries, and this time read and prayed about the Book of Mormon with a sincere heart and real intent. I felt the Spirit as I read it and found it had answers to questions I had long wondered about. I was Baptized by his younger brother. I continue to stay faithful to this church because it has given me a greater knowledge of my purpose and a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. It continues to help me become a better person and develop a greater love for others.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by acting on the principles I have been taught. I love working with the local kids at the community pool teaching swimming and water safety skills. I am currently serving a mission for my Church which gives me an opportunity to serve others, whether it be teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ or helping repair a roof.
