Hi I'm Italu

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time student, studying Biology in Utah. I have lived in Southern California my whole life. So, naturally, I love the beach and amusement parks. I love running, walking, hiking and any fun physical activity. I love spending time with my family and friends, doing anything that is fun. I love dancing, even though I'm not the greatest. I am absolutely fascinated by Science! I am really interested in how things are built, work, and function. I have learned that absolutely everything is a beautiful creation, even if it might not seem like it, it is. I am a convert of the church. I was baptized with my brother in April of 2006. My parents are not LDS. It is still the best decision I have taken up to this date. It brings so much happiness and blessings into my life that I just simply cannot imagine my life without it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 and got baptized, I knew this church was good and it just felt right. When I read The Book of Mormon and prayed if this book was true, I got an answer that I can't really describe and still remember vividly. I also prayed if this church was true and got the same, strong answer. I often am asked why I am part of this church that has had controversial events happen in the past and people do things that are not very "Christ-like". My response is that the people of the church are not perfect, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. Also, sometimes God asks us to do things that we might not fully understand why we have to do, but that is what faith is all about. The Gospel is there, set up perfectly, but it us up to each one of us how we live it. Like everyone else, I am not perfect. I mess up, I sin. However, I try my hardest to live the Gospel of Christ. I try my hardest because I know that this church is true and that when we are obedient, it brings SO many blessings into our lives, which = happiness! I've experienced it for myself and so have many others as well! It's a happiness that you cannot obtain from anything else! I am so happy to know that we have a person that died for us because He loves us unconditionally, even when we mess up and that is our Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for his Atonement and the opportunity it gives us to start again like new everyday. I know that we have a modern-day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I am happy to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Being the only LDS member in my class growing up and the only active member in my family would/ can be difficult. It can be difficult to obey every commandment, go to every church activity, and do everything the church asks of us when your family does not really understand what this means to you. It's been a struggle, but thanks to the testimony I have of this church, I have managed to overcome many of these inconveniences. I try to be an example to the people around me, and have seen that being an example is one of the biggest ways to let people know what you believe in and what you stand for. I attend church every Sunday. I love reading the scriptures, which include The Bible, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price. I hope to serve a mission for this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the future. In the meantime, I love going out with the missionaries whenever I can. When I go out with them, we go knocking to the doors of people we have been referred to by the members of the church, or we knock on stranger's doors, with the hope that they open their doors and listen to our little message. Sometimes we do street-contacting, which means that we go up to any person that is on the street and share a little message of Christ with them. It really makes our day when people pay attention to us and even accept our invitation to come to teach them again.
