Hi I'm Owen

I love being outside and active. I love sports. I love country music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Raymond Alberta Canada. I grew up in a small, religious and sports centered, town of 3500 people, and I loved it. I played football, and basketball and just about any other sport I could. I grew up with a great family and was taught to live an excellent standard of values. I have had a job since I was twelve years old, working construction, landscaping, and being a ranch hand. I love having fun with the people that I love. I really enjoy traveling, skiing, boating, camping, hiking, and anything that will give a good adrenaline rush. I graduated from High School in 2011 and am now serving a mission in SanDiego California. It is the best thing that I have ever done in my life. I love the Savior, I love his teachings, and I am eternally grateful for the person He has lead me to become.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that it is what Heavenly Father wants me to be! I always grew up in the church and learnt about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon since I was a little kid, but I never really knew it was true untill I put it to the test. When I was about 16 I started to really fear death, it was something that bothered me so much and was always on my mind. I would lay awake in the middle of the night just sick to my stomach worrying about it, the only thing I could do was get out of bed and go watch sports center to try and take my mind off of things, which never really worked. Eventually I turned to the person who knows me best and loves me more than anyone, my loving Heavenly Father. I started to read the Book of Mormon and was continually lead to passages about my Savior Jesus Christ, and his sacrifice for me. I eventually increased my faith and trust in Him enough to listen to his invitation, and turn my life to him. At the time I had made a lot of mistakes in highschool and was worn down with the heavy burden of sin and guilt. But when I had the faith to put his love, and his mercy to the test I could physically, emotionally, and spiritiually feel the burdens that wore me down lift from off my back. I am a witness of the Saviors love for each one of us, and it is these feelings of love, of peace, and of the joy of redemption that make me a Mormon. The Book of Mormon has the power to bring us all into the open arms of the Savior and to know that His church has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, it changed my life and it can change anyones!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more like Jesus Christ everyday, and sharing his gospel! I am currently serving a mission in San Diego Califronia, and all day I teach and testify of the restored gospel, and the Savior's love and mercy. Being a missionary is the best thing that I have ever done, there is nothing like seeing people change thier lives as they come to know of God's restored truths. As a missionary I have the opporunity to go into peoples homes and teach them about the Savior's gospel, do service for all of those around me, to talk to all kinds of people, and spend alot of time studying the scriptures. As a member I strive to love God by keeping his commandments, and I strive to love others by helping everyone I can, and inviting others to have faith in the Savior and live by his teachings. I simply just try my best to live up to the great potenital that Heavenly Father has given me, especailly so others can have the joy that I have been blessed with.
