Hi I'm Jacob Van Dam

I'm goofy, currently a full time missionary, I love trying to be athletic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think I'm just an average guy. I like to play sports, pretty much any sport. I played football in high school and I also wrestled. I like snowboarding, surfing, wake boarding, skating, if I could, and everything in between. Basically I enjoy being out in nature and experiencing life. Needless to say I have played my fair share of video games and also enjoy doing just that, but moderation in all things is definitely a must. I have a fantastic family, family is definitely important to me, and its a blessing to be tied to so many of them. I'm one of ten in my blessedly large family and hope to also be blessed to raise such a commendable family. Education is also important for me, although which way God will send me professionally has still yet to be determined.

Why I am a Mormon

Why not? I love being Mormon, it brings the most happiness and joy to my life more than anything else. Its brought my family close together, and allowed me to be where I am today. Its completely shaped my life to who I am today. Being Mormon gives me peace of mind knowing that God has a plan for me, and that I have a purpose in life and can work to becoming the person that God wants me to be. Its knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father who is always there for me in trials and in joy. Its painting the picture of a thousand words and only needing a few words to describe it. I know my Savior lives!

How I live my faith

I have to live it day by day. My faith means that each and every day I try to follow the Saviors example to become more like him. Does that mean that I'm perfect? NO. And I never will be. But it does mean that I'm working on my flaws and that there is hope for the future. Hope that as I follow Christ's example and give my best every day, that God will make up the rest. Being on a mission is another way that I am currently living my faith. The opportunity to share the Gospel is a blessing that we all can receive. To help others to find the light that we have already received is to witness miracles. There is no greater joy. The gospel blesses individuals, families and the world. All can benefit from hearing this great message!
