Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Seattle, I love ultimate frisbee, I'm a proud father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have always loved the mountains and the water. I enjoy learning about anything and get a kick out of watching my kids discover the world around them. I aspire to be a world traveler and my bucket list includes seeing the Alps, Mt Fuji (did that one) and visiting a lighthouse in Maine. I'm slower than I used to be but I still love a good game of ultimate. There are days when I even consider training for a marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ and His gospel. My life has meaning and direction because of Him. I'm a Mormon because I am happy when I follow Christ's teachings. As I try to live my life in a way that he would have me live I'm able to have hope for my own and my family's future. No single day is perfect but everytime I stumble the Lord is there to pick me up and help me along life's journey.

How I live my faith

One thing I love about the Mormon faith is the sense of community and support I get from my congregational "family". We help each other out in the hard times, watch out for the rising generation, we worship together and we play together. I still try to give a lot to my God and my faith but one of my greatest opportunies to serve came when I did mission work as a young man for 2 years in Ecuador. I met many wonderful people who often had very difficult lives. It was there that I learned some of llife's great lessons. My service in South America was the best decision I ever could have made at a time in my life when it would have been easy to loose my way.
