Hi I'm Elder Owens!

I'm a missionary for the church, i am serving in the Canada Vancouver Mission, and I've been blessed to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, i love fishing and the outdoors, i am serving a mission in the Canada Vancouver mission. i grew up my whole life in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, i was born and raised in Rexburg Idaho, i enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors....especially fishing. and i love serving my mission, and i love answering peoples questions about Jesus Christs church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the mormon church, and once i came to the age of accountability, i immediately saw the blessing from being a member of the church, my family was always united no matter what the situation was, there was always love at home, and home for me was a place where i could go for a spiritual environment, and also a place where i felt like i was loved, and very important to me, a place where i felt that i was wanted. i continued in this church because i saw how it blessed my family in the past, and i know that it will bless my family in the future, when i have my own. i love being a member of the church because i know that i am going to live with my family for all eternity. oh what a peace that brings. I'm not a perfect person because i am a member of the church, i fall short of a lot of things, but through Jesus Christs sacrifices, i can have those past mistakes taken away from me, and i can live a guilt free life as long as i do my best and live the standards of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

like i have said multiple times i am serving a full time mission, what this means is that i chose after high school to serve a mission, so i saved all the money i could, then when the time came, i left home and came to Vancouver, Canada, where i will live and teach the gospel for two years. in this time i will have very limited communication with my family back home in Idaho. and when i say i go around and teach, i don't mean in like a assembly hall or anything like that, i go around house to house, and try to get people to listen to the message that we share, most people are nice....most people. i love to do this work. i love going around and sharing the true gospel with people. and seeing there life's change.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Elder Owens!
The Word of Wisdom is something that i really enjoy, it is simple and direct. it is how we can all live healthy lives, and when i think about what would happen if we didnt have this commandment, its scary to me because tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs all ruin relationships and lifes. i am grateful we have this commandment. Are Mormons Christians?

Elder Owens!
yes we are very much so Christian. in The Book of Mormon a prophet named Nephi is teaching his posterity about what they can look to for a sence of faith and hope. in a very real way Nephi is testifying to the whole world now nearly 2500 years later that Jesus is the Christ, and in his own words: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." I testify with Nephi and every other member of this church that Jesus is my personal savior and his Atonement reaches to every person on the earth, everyone that has ever been and ever will be. Another prophet in the Book of Mormon testifies to this: "He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." The Book of mormon is true, it resolves anyones concern that they might have about our beliefs or the church in general. And it is truly Another Testimant of the Savior of us all, Jesus Christ. of these things i testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Show more Show less
