Hi I'm Erik

I've traveled to a lot of places, I love martial arts, I enjoy games and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Erik. I grew up on the move, almost never staying in any one place for more than two years at a time. I was born overseas in Germany. I've been able to see many wonderful sites but only due to the instability of my father's jobs. I'm actually thankful to God for these things, it's been a good life even if I've not had much money. Some of the best things I've ever had the opportunity to do is to live in England and visit the amazing castles. I've never had much of a good connection to people due to this lifestyle. My brothers have always been my best friends. I picked up martial arts and games while moving around the United States. The best thing about games was that it allows me to step back and experience the creativity of another mind. My personal dream is to be a writer that can express his own mind and unique thoughts in books and stories. I have a passion for reading the scriptures that I have gained since I started my mission to Oregon. I love the knowledge and memory that comes with daily reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I follow it not strictly because it was my parent's faith but because I learned that every bit of it was true. There comes a time when even the children have to gain their own stance about the things they know and that's just what happened. I believe God is the same yesterday, today, and forever even as he has told us himself. I believe that we are the very children of God. I know He loves us and why should a Father confuse His children. I know Him to be a God of order and light. In my life, particularly on my mission, I have learned that He has a perfect and just plan that cannot fail. I see that plan in action in my daily life. I see how when I turn away from Him I face bitterness - that is only meant to help me turn back to Him! God even gives us our weaknesses so that we can turn to Him.. then He can make them stronger in us. As I have studied the scriptures and the words of modern prophets I have come to know more fully that every scripture is taken account for. I know this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's true and living church. I know that to bring it back he called a prophet named Joseph Smith, even like he called Moses.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving the Lord and going on a mission to Oregon. I read the scriptures and pray daily. I love the Bible and the Book of Mormon; the holy scriptures and the very word of God! They teach us what we should do. Once upon a time I used to view them as entertaining and amazing stories that likely happened some day and age far past. Now I look at them with the faith and hope that, "These are real. This is history; it happened!", I know the scriptures to be true and that the Lord teaches us to be his disciples through the stories and examples and passages within them. I teach people what they should do to have peace and gain eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. I can say without a doubt that it is true what is said in the scriptures, that Christ is the only way that men can be saved. It is by doing the things that he asks us and especially having faith in him. Even the Pharisees in the Bible did what Christ asked but I've come to the conclusion to ask myself, "Why am I doing this? What is the purpose?", because everything has a purpose and I can say that much of what I do I can do because I love Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and my Friend. I teach people I meet, the why, the how, and the who that brings peace and life. I love what I do.
