Hi I'm Aisha

I'm a returned missionary, figuring life out. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

In March 2013 I returned from serving a full time mission in Orlando, Florida. It was the best 18 months of my life! I miss it everyday and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve. I am a student at Brigham Young University in Idaho studying Political Science. I chose Political Science because I loved my High School government teacher. I am not exactly sure what I want to do with my degree, but I do know that I want to love doing it. I am from Snohomish, Washington and I LOVE the rain and Pike Place Market. I get lost in the Harry Potter series, or just about any book. I wish I could live at the fair and roller coasters are my favorite past time. My family is important and I am grateful for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because it just made sense. When I was 13 missionaries came to our house because my step dad was a member of the church. They began to teach my mother, younger brother, and me. We soon were baptized in May of 2003. As I got older I went to church and the youth activities but wasn't fully converted until I went on Trek. Trek is when the youth of the church dress up as pioneers and push handcarts around, sounds terrible but the best thing to happen to me. We were able to go to Wyoming and really be where the pioneers were. As I sat at one of the sites and reflected on what we were doing, the Spirit overwhelmed me and I know that if the pioneers suffered so much to get away from persecution, The Book of Mormon had to be true and I couldn’t deny the feelings. Being a member has been the center of my life. It is who I am and what I stand for. I know that Heavenly Father loves us and He wants us to return to Him and He made that possible through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the older brother I have always wanted. He knows me and understands me. As I have made promises through baptism, I know that I will be blessed. Knowing and keeping the commandments gives me confidence that I need in this world. I know that we have a modern day prophet and Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ. I know this because I have prayed and I know if anyone wants to know they can receive the same witness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient to the laws of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I practice what I preach and I always try to look for ways to progress. I also try to talk to people about my faith.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Basically, anything you want! Mormon missionaries love talking to people! (I know this from experience) The mainly will want to share with you, things they know to be true about how much your Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to be happy. That Christ suffered for you in every possible way. The same church Christ established is still here. There is a modern day Moses (prophet). And that you can find out all this through the Power of the Holy Ghost. They will challenge you to read, pray, and ponder the things they share with you. They will invite you to check out a local church service and they will ask you if there is anyone else you know that could use this message. Show more Show less
